Smoother skin, fewer clogged pores, and not that tight stripped feeling
I have been using this CeraVe Renewing Salicylic Acid Cleanser pretty regularly for a while now, and I really like it. I have combination skin, so I appreciate a cleanser that can help with oil, texture, blackheads, and clogged pores without making my skin feel overly dry or stripped. What I like: • Gentle exfoliating cleanser • Helps my skin feel smoother • Leaves my skin feeling clean but not tight • Seems to help with blackheads • Seems to help with clogged pores • Helps with excess oil without overdoing it • Good for my combination skin • Nice option for skin texture concerns • Important to me as I get older and pay more attention to texture and smoothness • Contains salicylic acid • Also formulated with hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and ceramides • Fragrance-free • Non-comedogenic • Pump bottle is easy to use • Works well as part of a regular skincare routine • Good for both men and women • Does not feel harsh when I use it consistently and follow with moisturizer Things to be aware of: • This is still an exfoliating cleanser, so I would not overdo it if your skin is very dry or very sensitive • If you are new to salicylic acid, I would start slowly and see how your skin reacts • Very dry or sensitive skin may want to start with occasional use instead of daily use • Moisturizer afterward is important • I think this works best when paired with a good moisturizer • It is fragrance-free, so do not expect a scented face wash • Results with clogged pores, blackheads, and texture take consistent use Overall: This has become a regular cleanser for me because it leaves my skin feeling clean, smoother, and not overly dried out. I have combination skin, and it seems to help with excess oil, clogged pores, and blackheads while still being gentle enough for regular use when I follow with moisturizer. I also like that it includes ingredients like salicylic acid, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and ceramides, because I want something that helps with texture but still supports my skin as it ages. For me, this is a solid everyday-style exfoliating cleanser that works well without feeling harsh.

We Both Use and Love It — Great Everyday Cleanser
My husband and I both use the CeraVe Renewing Salicylic Acid Cleanser, and we absolutely love it. It’s become a staple in our skincare routines because it really works without irritating the skin. The formula feels gentle but effective. The salicylic acid helps exfoliate and keep pores clear, while the hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and ceramides all help soothe and hydrate, so our skin doesn’t feel stripped or tight after washing. It’s definitely softer and smoother compared to other exfoliating face washes I’ve tried. We both have different skin types — mine leans combo and his is more normal — and this cleanser works great for both of us. It’s fragrance-free and non-comedogenic, which is a big plus since neither of us likes heavy scents or anything that clogs pores. I appreciate that it’s effective enough to tackle dullness and congestion, yet mild enough for daily use. The 8-ounce size lasts a while too, so it’s good value. Overall, this cleanser hits the sweet spot between gentle and effective, and we’ll definitely keep repurchasing.

As advertised
I have occasional acne. I decided to try this cleanser instead of my usual since I was still having mild breakouts. I'm happy to report that after using it for about a month, I've just gotten a small pimple hear and there. It's a huge improvement. It leaves my skin feeling so soft and clean.

Solid cleanser, doesn’t really help with blackheads
This is a great cleanser in general, but I bought it to remove blackheads, which it did not do at all. Other than that, it’s a solid cleanser. You get a lot for the price, and it’s a pretty large bottle. It’s not too drying as long as you apply moisturizer afterwards, and it has a good texture that feels nice on the skin. However I didn’t really notice any huge improvements in my skin, or my super stubborn blackheads, but it’s different for anyone.

Important PSA about acne products
I've only been using this for 3 days, I will update my review once I've used it for at least 4 weeks (assuming I stick it out). But I wanted to try to help people understand something about acne/exfoliation treatments. I know this isn't marketed as an acne treatment, but is has salicylic acid in it which is used to treat acne. If I can help just one person understand what I wish someone had explained to me in my teens and 20's, I will be happy. I didn't have the internet when I was having my worst skin issues (I'm old!). And the companies that make acne treatments do not explain to you on the box/bottle what to expect----it's a bit of a con to get you to keep spending money on new products, which is what I did when I was younger. Any product meant to either treat acne or exfoliate WILL MOST PROBABLY MAKE YOU BREAK OUT WORSE BEFORE IT GETS BETTER. If it does, it's doing it's job. The chemicals in those products clear dead skin cells away thereby cleaning out your pores which then "purge" all that crud out of your pores which then causes breakouts. Sorry, that's an unscientific explanation, but it explains why you suffer more or worse breakouts before the product will possibly start to result in clearer skin (I say possibly because you might never get "clear" skin). When I was young, no one told me this so I'd use a product for a brief time, my pimples would be no better or might even get worse, so I'd quit and buy another product etc. Finally I convinced myself acne medication in general was just irritating my skin worse and causing the breakouts so I stopped using it altogether. I NEVER stuck to a treatment for the 4-6 weeks the skin experts say it takes to completely "purge" your pores. By the way, it is also NOT TRUE that any new skin care product you start using will cause purging/break outs. It's only certain ingredients. By no means do I know all of them, but some of them are: benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, lactic acid, citric acid------google it to get a full list but those are the biggies. Again, I'm not an expert, but I did do research to try to find out if another CeraVe product was causing new pimples, which is how I learned all this. I'm so bummed and angry I didn't know this when I was younger. It might have made life a bit easier for me. Anyway, I debated between this and the CeraVe cleanser specifically for acne prone skin, but at my age, I just don't have it in me to possibly deal with horrible break outs for the next 6 weeks, so I opted for this product, which has such a low concentration of salicylic acid that it's very possible it won't have any effect at all on my acne, which is why I got the smaller bottle, just to try it out. I might try the one for acne prone skin after that if I'm still having issues (I had the occasional stray pimple here and there for the last 20 years but perimenopause has taken me back to the skin of my late teens/early 20's, which in this case, is not a good thing!) In my late 20's and 30's there was an awesome antibacterial ingredient available in facial cleansers that kept my face crystal clear, but people complained it was bad for the environment (like their cars aren't!) and got it taken off the market. Thanks, people :-( As I said, I'm just hoping this helps someone who is dealing with acne, even if it's not this product you end up trying. Last helpful hint: acne treatments dry your skin out, dermatologist will tell you that you need to use a moisturizer even though it seems contradictory to use it on acne prone/oily skin. Reason is, if your skin is too dry, your body thinks it needs to produce more oil to help. Unfortunately, I have NEVER used a single facial moisturizer that doesn't clog my pores (even if it says it won't) and make me break out. But know that you should be using one! Update after 6 weeks of use: This totally is enough % of salicylic acid to accomplish purging of your pores. It took the entire 6 weeks, but I think I might finally be over the hurdle and it was NOT easy. Weeks 4 and 5 were by far the worst, I had an outbreak of about 8 pimples all on my left cheek area that looked awful and kept coming back to a head even after seeming to get better and the red spots are still there. Every day I developed a minimum of 2 new pimples, some days I would wake up with new ones and then by the time I would get home from work, I'd have another new one that had come to a head. It was embarrassing to go through, but now that I think I'm done, it seems to have been worth it. Overall my skin looks better than it ever has, although to be fair, I will never have flawless skin. I did actually start to use a gel moisturizer (the green Garnier stuff in the little jar) 2 weeks in because I wanted to try to prevent over drying, and so far it seems to be working well without causing additional break outs. So I'm actually changing my star rating on this from 3 to 5 because I'm very happy with it------plus the bottle is lasting forever. Even after 6 weeks of using nightly, I've only used about 1/4 the bottle and I got the smaller one.

GREAT for sensitive skin!
I did a lot of Dr. googling to figure out what would be the most direct (and affordable) route to help with my hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, and terrible skin texture. The answer was always salicylic acid. I’ve done that loads of times in the past—for decades— and it makes my skin absolutely freak out. It would feel sensitive to the touch, like a sun burn, and peel NON. STOP. Even with twice a week usage, SAcid makes my skin soo peeely I cannot use foundation or powder— and any less than twice a week is useless for SAcid. Anyone who has terrible acne scarring understands that’s simply not OK. I need my full coverage. Thxbye. One awesome YouTuber suggested that I try this product instead of leave-on topicals. 🤯 This way I’m still getting the benefits using it everyday, even twice a day, however I’m not a flake monster because it’s not being left on my skin. 🤯 bruh. So simple. Why didn’t I think of this???????? This is just a really great cleanser. Im legit shocked every damn time I use it. The GA also leaves your skin feeling like you've had a moisturizing mask on for an hour!?! After one wash??!? Overall it’s a freaking GREAT product. It’s a lot of product. It’s super affordable. I’m not even an inch down and I use it twice a day for the past three weeks. I also wash my face twice at night so Im using more product than you’d normally use (full coverage makeup) I think I’ve finally found my forever face wash. The other one I enjoy using if I don’t have make up on is the “fresh“ soy face cleanser. But good lordt it’s expensive and doesn’t remove makeup thoroughly. If they made THIS stuff smell like THAT stuff? I’d but a vat. Two vats. To go. A surprising 10/10. If you’re wondering if you should take a gamble or not, look at the price and read the reviews. Then purchase your amazon cart you’ve sat on for a week or two. Yolo. Buy the cute jars for your spices. Get the sexy pumps. And above all else, BUY THIS FACE WASH. It’s a brand name that every GD dermatologist has suggested to me. And Ive seen a lot of them. I’m just gonna have to get over the fact that my face doesn’t smell like fresh produce But TLDR: my SKIN. IS IMPROVING. For UNDER TEN DOLLARS. Priceless.

Cleans and Softens
I’ve been using this face wash for a bit now, and it’s honestly pretty easy to like. It exfoliates without feeling rough or scratchy, which is huge for me because my skin gets irritated fast. It just feels like it’s gently cleaning things out instead of attacking my face. It starts out as a gel and then foams up when you wash, and my skin feels clean after but not tight or dried out. That’s usually my biggest issue with cleansers, so I was happy about that. My face actually feels soft afterward, not like I need to rush to put on moisturizer. I’ve also noticed it helps with rough spots and little breakouts without making things worse. No strong smell, no weird reactions — it’s just one of those “do your job and don’t cause problems” products. Basically, if you want a face wash that cleans well, lightly exfoliates, and doesn’t mess up your skin, this one’s been solid for me.

Holy Grail Cleanser - My Skin Has Never Looked Better!
CeraVe Renewing Salicylic Acid Cleanser has become my absolute holy grail skincare product! I've been using it for three months now, and the transformation in my skin has been nothing short of miraculous. This cleanser has earned a permanent spot in my daily routine, and I genuinely can't imagine my skincare regimen without it. I've always struggled with rough, bumpy skin texture and occasional breakouts. I'd tried numerous cleansers that were either too harsh and left my skin feeling stripped and tight, or too gentle and didn't effectively address my concerns. CeraVe has struck the perfect balance. The salicylic acid gently exfoliates and unclogs my pores without causing irritation or over-drying, which is exactly what my skin needed. What sets this cleanser apart is the phenomenal ingredient combination. The hyaluronic acid keeps my skin hydrated and plump, the niacinamide has visibly improved my skin tone and reduced redness, and the ceramides strengthen my skin barrier. I can actually see and feel the difference - my skin is smoother, clearer, and has a healthy glow that I never thought was possible for me. The texture of this cleanser is perfect - it's creamy but not heavy, and it foams up nicely without being stripping. I use it morning and night, and my skin feels thoroughly cleansed but never tight or uncomfortable. It removes all traces of dirt, oil, and even light makeup without any harsh scrubbing. My pores look visibly smaller and cleaner, and I've noticed significantly fewer blackheads on my nose and chin. Within the first two weeks, I noticed my skin texture becoming smoother. The rough patches on my forehead and cheeks started disappearing, and my overall complexion looked more refined. By week six, friends and coworkers were asking me what I'd been doing differently because my skin looked so radiant. That's when I knew this product was truly special. I also love that it's fragrance-free and developed with dermatologists. My skin is somewhat sensitive, and I've never experienced any irritation, redness, or adverse reactions. The bottle is a generous size and lasts for months, making it an incredible value for the quality you're getting. This cleanser works beautifully with the rest of my skincare products and has actually made my other products work better because my skin is properly prepped and exfoliated. I'm absolutely in love with CeraVe, and I recommend it to everyone!

Not thick
Ceràve always does what it says. I found this wash extremely watery compared to the samples I got on pharmacies here. Only time will tell if it does indeed moisturise the skin while cleaning it .. I've used the smoothing bumps cream and it is we very good. My elbow is seriously dry , rough , cracked, painful and would probably bleed only for moisturizing. Hopefully this wash helps in showers

Wish this deal was available more
I absolutely love this product! It has had a brilliant effect on my skin. It does exactly as it claims. I do not to use in plentiful amounts to get a lather going, and it lasts! I've Been disappointed with other top brands before, but this I have continued to buy. I've learnt to buy 2x the amount as never know when stocks are available.
