I presume it won’t trip the main RCD,when plugged in and used?….correct?

Just to warn folk: Malcolm Guest said on 14 July 2021 "If the socket is not wired correctly the RCD would have already tripped". This is not correct. Lots of incorrect wirings won't trip an RCD, such as missing E, reversed LN, or any incorrect wiring (eg NE reversed) but using less than 30mA (eg with a USB charger). RCDs are to help protect user, and do NOT confirm correct wiring. PS don't forget to check your RCDs regularly by pressing their test button!

would this tell me if I had an earth leakage

Really good for checking faulty sockets, it tells you if wiring is not connected or wires reversed/wrongly connected. Plug it into the socket instant check, I found an earth in a socket that had come loose. Ideal for checking after any work is done on electrics. However it will not spot earth leakage for that you need a device like the Kewtech KEW2434, if you have an earth leakage problem it's probably cheaper to pay an electrician, ( with test gear) to sort it out.

Can I test uk shavers socket with this?

As far as I know the shavers have got a different plug than normal 3pin plug and the shavers also hAve got a different output as 110 or 230 v AC so I don't think that socket tester can plug into that and for sure it can not test 110
