I fired up my soldering iron to maximum heat. I held my fragile 3D printed part in my sweaty hands. I needed absolute structural strength. I picked up one of these brass-like cylinders with my precision tweezers. I'll absolutely melt my fingers off, I thought. I pressed the red-hot iron directly onto the metal. The insert sank beautifully into the yielding plastic wall. The pungent smell of melting polymer filled my basement. I inhaled the fumes deeply. They smelled exactly like victory. The plastic cooled quickly around the knurled metal, locking the piece in place forever. I drove a steel M3 screw into the fresh threads. It tightened down with immense, satisfying pressure. I've successfully transformed my flimsy plastic trinkets into indestructible industrial hardware. They're doing their job perfectly. You'll definitely want a massive pile of these inserts on your workbench.

I'm sure these have other uses but, for 3D printed projects, these transform how easy it is to construct boxes and cases. For the M3 nuts I set blocks of 10 mm cubed with a 4mm hole in them (6mm depth), placed a rivnut in the hole, put a soldering iron on top of the nut and then gently pushed down. The nut settles in with a very satisfying squelch and then it's an extremely strong anchor to screw other components, plates or faces onto. Love these and I'll be using them in all my medium-to-high complexity 3D projects from now on! Recommended.

Ordered these for a 3d printing project. They work a treat. Easy to insert using a soldering iron with a pointed tip in the middle. Takes a bit of practice to get them straight but that's the same for any brand of these. And they work just fine. Can't fault them - good value for a big bag full of inserts!

Die Hewindeeinsätze können einfach mit dem Lötkolben eingebracht werden, zumindest in Plastik. Die Gewinde selbst sind passend und die Schraube geht leichtgängig rein.
