Kraft Vegemite (220g)

A simply delicious product! Especially if you’re a Aussie!!!

I had an Australian friend coming to visit me here in the UK, after they had been travelling for months away from all home comforts (and tastes)So I thought I would get them something for that 'home away from home' experience. Now I know that 99.9% of Australians really do go nuts for Vegemite...though as a Brit I have no idea why ;) I don't even like Marmite so this product clearly doesn't appeal to me.But I saw Vegemite on Amazon, possibly the last place I expected to find it. And I decided to get some for my friend, hoping that when they were able to have some on their toast for brekkie at my house that they would feel at home and happy.I mis-judged how much my friend actually LOVES this stuff! As soon as I showed it to them it was used on a sandwich, then toast, then another sandwich. In the course of 2 days they'd used it for 5 meals!! Haha, I think they were very happy :)I let them take the rest of the jar and will pass the link to buying it on Amazon to them also, so when they inevitably run out (quickly a the current rate of consumption!) they can get themselves some more for while they are still living so far from home.All in all it made an Aussie who was far from home very happy - I was glad to be able to purchase this in the UK, it was worth it.

My little Aussie grandson was comito the UK. He loves his Vegemite sandwiches so much. He loves the flavour. I disliked the fact I had to buy 3 bottles which was minimum purchase order. That’s 2 bottles wasted but I’ll give them away

Good quality product, arrived sooner than expected, fine taste for my Australian visitor, would recommend

It's a taste thing,but this is better than marmite. A jar lasts me about 9 months and I have it most days on toast.

A tad expensive but unable to find in local supermarkets !

Vegemite can be bought in Tesco for WAY LESS £££

I have been eating Vegemite since I was a little girl so it was great to be able to buy over Amazon UK.

Nice specialty product for an OK price in India.

It's yeast extract, that's for sure.It is distinctly different than Marmite, flavor, texture, and consistency. They are similar product but Vegemite tastes like a beer brewing byproduct in a good way.I completely understand why some people hate the stuff, it's salty, a bit metallic but it's also malty and there is a green bitter resinous quality, I assume is a hop of some sort. It reminds be of what might happen if you reduced a pale ale and seasoned it with salt.The texture, I assume comes from fewer reductions, it has body to it and is easily spreadable like Peanut Butter, not that you would want to use that much but you get the point. It's like they literally scooped the bottom of the fermenter and blended it. Makes complete sense to me, that's where all the excess flavor is. What are we supposed to do with it? Just throw it away? Pour it down the drain? Vegemite said "No!" we cook it down further and I assume some sort of secondary anaerobic salt fermentation like with miso and soy sauce.Size is good - 220g I probably used a teaspoon on a 10 inch tortilla. This will probably last me well over a month even if I ate it everyday. Price is solid, name another product you can eat everyday for a month at this cost with a nutritional table like this. It could not be easier to use, plastic knife on a tortilla you want to see the tortilla through the grooves basically the bare minimum coverage. Versatility is a tough one, this seems like more of a spread then anything else, you may be able to add it to a stew for umami, it could work in the place of beer with added water.

I am so happy, I thought I'd wait for a month. It took literally 4 days to be delivered. Thank you Amazon.

I tried it for the first time...it was a totally new experience and I would buy it again...it was value for money...has a strong smell....it's original product and quality is good...
