Very Impressive Soundbar!!
This soundbar (Polk Signa Solo) is definitely a surprise to my expectations! I recently returned one from a different brand due to me being underwhelmed and defective so decided to go with this one. This one is perfect for a bedroom or small to medium living room. This is perfect for older TV units because this isn't equipped with a HDMI/ARC connection. It has an Optical and Line In for audio. The Bluetooth connects flawlessly! The only downside side is that the remote control is a cheap and flimsy design. Very small and could easily be misplaced. I think the remote under compliments the quality of the soundbar. Fortunately the learning code that Polk has will highly likely connect to any premium TV remote control that offers universal connection. You may only be able to control the volume and not the other functions, at least in my case. Overall it is definitely a good soundbar with a good sound!

Sound is goood, limited interfacing with TV
I have all Polk speakers for my surround setup, and bookshelf speakers for the TV upstairs that sound great, so I wanted to stay with Polk Audio for my sound bar. I am connecting it to a 43" TCL 5 TV. The setup was pretty easy, just plugged in the included TOS cable and it worked. The cable is cheap, but it does work. The sound was very good for dialog, and even for music. It does not have the low bass punch that a sub could give, but it should be OK for most viewing. I tried it against a plaster wall, so the sound from the bass ports could bounce out from the rear facing openings. If that is all you need, then these are good for <$100 speakers. The issue I really have with this is controlling the audio. I tried programming it with a Roku remote, and it couldn't register the up and down volume. The Roku remotes all use the same signaling, and there are a ton of them out there, so I was surprised by this. Also, there is no mute function to program, since you can only select the buttons on the top of the bar. A mute function is critical to me to instantly mute if I have to talk on the phone, and I didn't want to have to use the separate Polk remote just for that. Also, as with all TOS connections (I think), you only get a line feed. You can't control the volume coming in. One thing it does do is turn on if it senses an input on the TOS link. That is good if that is what you want it to do, but not if you are trying to purposely keep it off. Also, it does not shut off when you shut off the TV, so it's just a sound sensor. I didn't even get to test the Bluetooth, since I've already determined that I need to move up to the Signa S2 with the HDMI ARC control. Also, the additional sub would be nice.

Very good sound and features
This is a great performer for a very good price making it a great value. TV speakers on newer flat screens are typically tinny sounding and fail to deliver the type of sound the other wise excellent picture deserves. Enter the Polk Sound bar. It delivers decent base without booming, and great sound across the frequency spectrum. It also is Bluetooth capable and used frequently in our installation. I have been a Polk fan since they started making small bookshelf monitors in the 80's and still have two pair that sound as good today as they did when I bought them 30+years ago. Features I like include the auto-on and off when the TV is powered. The sound bar can be easily configured to respond to the TV/Sat receiver remote control reducing clutter. Skip the bulky 2.1 set-ups if you want simplicity, ease of use and useful features.

Remote is a turd but sounds good
I have used this sound bar for about year now. Here’s my opinion. Sound is awesome! Especially for the price I paid, if I remember it was a little over $100. Mounts to the wall very easily. My biggest complaint is the remote is total trash. I have a Roku Sharp brand smart tv and I use dish network. I can’t pair the remote. Bigger issue the that is the remote doesn’t work very well. You have to mash the hell out of the buttons and hope the sound bar picks it up. At this point I have to walk right up to the sound bar to change the volume. Defeats the purpose of a remote. Do not! Put ANYTHING in front of it. It will not work at all. So the remote is a total turd. Also it doesn’t balance sound well. When the tv commercials come on they are very loud. Which I thought was illegal. Same in movies. The music is way louder then the movie. For me all of that is very infuriating. Sounds great, looks great, just isn’t quite the product I was expecting to get from Polk.

Stopped Working
The sound is better than the television speakers, but not much. Contrary to it's claims, voice clarity was not improved. If you place the speaker on a TV stand right below the TV it will block the TV's remote. The included optical cable is too short to place it on the floor below a TV stand. The remote on our Phillips TV would not control the speaker. We had to reboot several times to get it to work. It comes with a tiny remote that is difficult to hold and difficult to use. The included instructions are so basic as to be useless. Definitely not worthy of the Polk brand. We concluded that it was worth keeping at the very low price, but then it stopped working. The volume control would only go down. We tried all the usual troubleshooting, but nothing worked. Returned for refund and back to the built-in speakers.

Great! But... another remote. And this one is tiny.
If I was some sort of acoustical engineer I might not be terribly impressed. But this thing is so much better than the tv speakers that Im quite happy. Two things: The remote is tiny and I have kids so it will be lost soon and Im not sure what I will do when it happens. It allows you to program slight functionality on ONE universal remote so you can control just volume in and out but only one so, if you have more than one remote (roku, cable) you may only program one of those. But the other remote functions won't work without the tiny remote destined to be lost. Second; the bar turns itself off after a few minutes if you don't set it up properly. Do whatever your TV tells you to do( turn off the tv speakers etc.) then press the button marked with a square on the bar itself. That will fix the problem. The instructions that came with the bar are crap, and there is no info on the web so hopefully you will read this before you toss it out in the yard.

Remote Does Not Work
The speaker quality if pretty decent. I am a big fan of Polk speakers. However, the remote they give you is a toy and has not worked since day one. Volume control is pretty clunky as you have to choose from optical and bluetooth. I find that the sound setting is too low so when I get up to turn on the soundbar, I need to click yes to output sound from the TV and then press up the volume a bunch of times before sitting back down. This needs to be done every time as the volume resets to a lower setting when turned back on. Overall I would not recommend compared to all the HDMI ARC units out there that dont have these problems. I just use the TV volume to avoid the hassle.

Great Sound for the Price
Even though I know Polk to be a high-quality brand through owning multiple pairs of their floor-standing and bookshelf speakers through the years and never being disappointed, I wasn’t expecting much based on the price of this sound bar. However, I was very surprised by the sound quality from this sound bar. Even with small drivers and no accompanying sub, bass is rich and undistorted and highs are unmuffled without sounding tinny. This easily sounds better than most sub-$200 sound bars I’ve heard, mainly the Visio ones which are the most popular yet barely sound better than built-in speakers. It’s also nice that it’s as long as much more expensive sound bars as you can get much better stereo separation. Although this thing can’t rival a small dedicated 2.0 setup with a receiver and ‘proper’ speakers, for its price and size, it comes close enough to be worth it.

Fantastic Product
i was looking for a quality sound bar for my home, my requirements were crystal clear sound clarity with more preference to the dialogues of the movie or series, i was looking for the bose sound bar and came to know about polk sound bar, after bit of research i gave a go with the polk sound bar, needless to say buying the polk signa solo is the best decision, i am bowled over by the amazing sound quality, connects with bluetooth, aux, optical cable, build quality is worth for this pricing, coming to the speaker quality, the voice are clear and so for the background music, there is even a night mode which signifies the dialogue and eliminates the background score for a minimal. overall i recommend the product; a must buy if you are looking for a premium sound bar with a crystal clear sound output.

Great sound quality
I got this soundbar during sale for Rs 9000/- and I've been using it for around a month. I'm pairing this with TCL LED TV and it is a significant upgrade from the in-built TV speakers. I was particular with soundbar without sub-woofer mainly due to space constraints and to avoid extra wirings and fittings. There are few options for a standalone soundbars with a varying price range but I finally decided on Polk signa solo mainly based on brand reputation, and my prior experience with Polk car speakers. Coming to the soundbar, I'm quite happy with this product. Here are few Pros and Cons. Pros: 1. Sound quality is quite impressive when using optical connectivity. It produces crisp vocals, with enough bass and mid-range. It simulates theatrical sound experience. 2. It has a Bass and vocals controller, and the bass controller in particular is quite effective. 3. Built quality is quite solid. The plastics doesn't feel cheap. 4. It doesn't override the inbuilt TV audio, meaning the sound from both the TV and soundbar will be audible at the same time,. But this means you need to control the volume for both TV and soundbar. Cons: 1. It doesn't have HDMI (ARC) connectivity. Even entry level soundbars come with HDMI (ARC) these days. But the main advantage of HDMI (ARC) is when setting up multiple channels for surround sound, and this soundbar being a standalone I feel it doesn't really matter. 2. The remote controller is quite small and flimsy. It could easily be misplaced or lost. And most of the key controls like bass, vocals, presets equalizers can be controlled only through remote. 3. The volume when connected via 3.5mm AUX cable is quite low, nowhere near optical. 4. There is a latency issue (or delay) when connected through bluetooth. I would not recommend using bluetooth connectivity when watching movies or videos. It will work fine for music though. 5. The price is a little high compared to other models with similar specs and functions, even after discount. If you look at the pros and cons, there are more points for cons, but there is a workaround for most of them or they really are not deal breakers. My main concern though is the flimsy remote controller. But overall I'm quite happy with this product and I would recommend it.
