What is the depth of the shaft on these as I have 4.5mm thick lightweight foamsigns to stick to a window and other suckers show shaft depth at 3mm?

I have just looked at a few and I would say probably 3mm is correct. You could glue the head to the foam sign, it depends how many you have to do I guess,

Are these suitable to replace fixed suction caps on a rattan coffee table top?

Not sure.... We used them to keep window coverings up in our camper van. Unfortunately, once the sun came up and the glass got warm, they fell off.
