Description The LCD1602 is an industrial character LCD that can display 16x2 or 32 characters at the same time. The principle of the LCD1602 liquid crystal display is to use the physical characteristics of the liquid crystal to control the display area by voltage, that is, the graphic can be displayed. The 1602 uses a standard 16-pin interface, and our display module is a module that provides I2C functionality. I2C uses only two bidirectional open-drain lines, Serial Data Line (SDA) and Serial Clock Line (SCL),pulled up with resistors. Typical voltages used are +5 V or +3.3 V although systems with other voltages are permitted. It can be operated as long as it supports the I2C development board. For example, the common Ar-duino, raspberry pi, Stm32 and so on. Good choice for I2C based LCD displays.
Had a couple of LCDs ready to use but not I2C based, so I purchased these to minimize connections. Very happy with my decision to buy these. I have one in service and 2 more if needed. If you are looking for a cost effective quality I2C LCD these should fit the bill.

Clear display
I'm using one with a DOIT DEVKIT V1 board (ESP32 board with WiFi) displaying the time - the whole system is a SMPTE timecode generator. The display is clear, the once-per-second update I'm doing looks fine, and is easy to read even in a well-lit area.

Great two line screen. Set up was almost instantaneous.
The only thing I can say is that they only gave me enough wires to hook up two of them instead of all three. It was no big deal though. I just generated a four conductor ribbon cable and connected it to the custom printed circuit boards and they went. The screens performed perfectly. I have six of them operating in a clients machines right now. Heโs very happy with them, I am very happy with them.
