Does what it says.
I got the loft door latch on the same day and replaced the new old one. It was a easy set up. The quality of the latch is rather stirdy a d it fit(s) perfectly on the door.

A little fiddly to put in place, very small fixings hard to handle. However, when up, does the job well with a very solid hold on my loft hatch. Recommended.

Simple and reliable mechanism
I bought this item to replace the same that I have had for 25 years. Totally reliable mechanism that securely closes the hatch to its supporting wooden frame. However, fitting can be a bit fiddly as the catch needs to be lined up precisely with the receiving mechanism. I like the way it is released by upward pressure from the loft pole, and released in a similar manner.

No use for loft hatch
May be ok for a cupboard, does not work on loft hatch at all, the hatch just opens due to gravity, catch doesn't work to keep it shut at all. It doesn't seem a very good design unfortunately.
