Better then store bought crap
This product foams like Cujo, no joke. Act fast getting that water in. If you dont have buckets ready to pour in you'll be disappointed with the mess you made cuz you didnt listen to the instructions. I will be scoping my drain in about a month so we'll see how effective it really has been.

After 6 Years of Annual Root Clogs, This Finally Solved It!
My sewer lines have clogged from growing tree roots every single year during the first week of May for the last 6 years. Like clockwork. Every spring I’d have to drag out my 75 foot auger and spend hours laboring over clearing the drains. It was a nightmare.I bought this thinking it might not work at all. Honestly, I wasn’t convinced it would. I figured it was worth a try though.I applied the full 4 lb container down my main cleanout on April 21st, about 2 weeks before my lines’ annual root clog normally happens here in Michigan. After that I followed it with about 20 gallons of water and avoided running any additional water for around 8 hours.Starting around May 1st, I kept waiting for the drains to start slowing down and clogging like they always do. And waited. And waited. It’s now May 23rd and the lines still haven’t clogged. At this point they obviously aren’t going to, and I couldn’t be happier about it.This completely solved a problem I’ve been dealing with every single spring for years. Not having to fight with my sewer lines and drag out that heavy auger this year has been an enormous relief. I’ll absolutely be using this every spring from now on, and based on my experience, I absolutely recommend it.

It works, and is well worth the cost
I've used RootX for years now. When I moved into my house, which was built int 1907, I was having constant sewage back-up from root growth. I used several of the box store foaming root killers, but they didn't stop the backup. I started using RootX, and have never had a problem since then. I've gone a year between applications without a problem, but because I've had so many issues, I typically apply every six to nine months just to be safe. However, keep in mind that this prevents root growth; it's not meant to unclog stopped lines.I've always used the four-pound container applied through a sewer cleanout. I've never tried the two-pound container through the toilet, but seeing how much the four-pound container foams, I don't think I'd risk trying the two-pounder through the toilet. I learned a few things the hard way. First, wear an N95 mask. When I dump it down the sewer clean-out, a lot of fine particulate (like dust) gets suspended in the air, and I can't imagine it's great to breathe. Second, have four five-gallon buckets ready to pour in (for the four-pound container). The first time I used it, I used one bucket and would fill it each time. The RootX foamed out of the clean-out while I was refilling.

Does it’s job
I have an old home with old pipes that drain slowly at times. This was recommended by a plumber to help with the roots they have broken the line to help keep things running properly. Foams up pretty quickly and takes a while to get it all down the drain but seems to work decent. I don’t have a sewage clean out that I put it in, just the floor drain which is why. But like I said I have an old home.
