Great Little Tester
This HDMI Cable Tester is terrific. It is compact enough one could carry it in a pocket, though more likely in tool pouch. The remote allows for testing of cables the ends of which are out of sight of one another. The readout is simple, readily identifying problem cables of which we turned out to have only one. What a time saver over trying one cable after another--all were tested in a matter of minutes. Well worth the money!

I have tested several long Cat6 cables and being new to installing ends this unit gave me piece of mind that I made up both ends correctly. Great product

A cheap way to test basic connections
This will do a basic test of functionality, but a positive test does not necessarily guarantee a working connection. Power-over-ethernet was accidentally applied to our tester and several of the lights stopped working for RJ45 connections.

About this to test the box of supposedly high-end cables that I was having issues with and while this doesn't test the bandwidth of those cables it does help you identify intermittent issues with singular wires in that cable quite easy to use intuitive and help me identify a few of my supposed high-end cables has actually the issue with intermittent open circuits.

Tried on several different cables (that are known working) with inconsistent results that changed from test to test.

Nothing super fancy but does the job. I have used it for troubleshooting bad HDMI and CAT 6 cables. Works.
