A Huge Upgrade in Reliability and Peace of Mind
I had been using a Viofo dash cam before this, and the reason I decided to replace it was honestly frustrating. Last year I was involved in an accident, and when I went to check the footage, there was nothing saved at all. I was shocked. After looking into it, the cause turned out to be a card error. I changed the memory card after that, but the problem still came back from time to time, and it became a constant source of stress. A dash cam is supposed to give you peace of mind, so dealing with repeated recording concerns completely defeated the purpose. One of the main reasons I chose Thinkware was the brand reputation. It has a very strong premium image, and being known as the number one brand in Korea definitely influenced my decision. I hesitated at first because it is not an easy product to justify casually, but after reading reviews and spending time looking through Reddit discussions and user experiences, I came to the conclusion that this was one of the best options when it comes to durability and long term dependability. My conclusion is simple. I am extremely satisfied with it. The app works well, which already makes the daily experience much better. The video quality is also excellent, with clear footage that looks sharp and dependable without noticeable degradation. More than anything, the parking mode has been outstanding. That is probably the feature that gives me the most confidence. It feels like this is finally the kind of dash cam setup I can truly trust, both while driving and while the car is parked. I also installed it myself instead of going through a professional installer. Since I added the rear camera as well, the full installation took about two hours. Even so, it was not especially difficult. I was relieved that the power connection process felt much simpler and more user friendly than I expected, so I was able to install it without too much anxiety. For me, this has been a major upgrade in the areas that matter most. Reliability, image quality, app performance, and parking protection all feel strong here. After my experience with missing footage on my previous dash cam, that sense of security matters a lot, and this product has absolutely delivered it.

Solid dash cam, does what we need
We already had the previous (non-Pro) version of this Thinkware camera in our other car and it has worked really well for us, so we decided to stay with the same brand. We just bought this Pro version for our sonโs car and the setup was easy. Video quality looks clear, including at night, and the app makes it simple to check recordings. So far, itโs been very reliable and does exactly what we need.

Not so great
Has some good features however really bad quality control. I have these in my service trucks. Had issues with park mode and lte service. Out of the 5 I have most have been returned at least once or had some issues with obdII cables etc gave up and hard wired them. The phone in support is pretty good however email support is laughable. You can get these dealer installed on ford service vehicles but even they say quality is hit or miss and the units may or may not work.

Image quality lives up to the hype, app side needs work
Bought this after my old Garmin started randomly rebooting on hot days, and I wanted something with proper parking mode without paying a shop $150 to wire it in. The OBD cable that comes with the U3000 Pro is what sold me โ plug into the OBD-II port, route the cable along the headliner, done in about 40 minutes including the rear cam run. Battery drain was my biggest worry going in. I'd read enough horror stories about parking mode killing batteries that I almost talked myself out of it. After a little over a month, no dead car, no slow cranks, no weird voltage warnings. It knows when to shut itself off and it actually does. Image quality is genuinely fantastic. 4K on the front is sharp enough that I can read plates two cars ahead on the highway, and the rear cam in 2K is more than enough for anything you'd realistically need it for. Night footage on my street (suburban, decent streetlights) looks almost like daytime โ brake lights and reflective signs don't get blown out the way they did on my old camera. Here's my actual complaint, and it's not small. Pulling old footage off this thing through the Dash Cam Link app is a pain. You have to reconnect over WiFi every time, and the interface for scrubbing back to something from yesterday afternoon, or god forbid two days ago, is clunky enough that I gave up on it. My workaround now is to pop the microSD and read it on my desktop, which is faster but kind of defeats the point of having WiFi in the first place. If Thinkware fixes the app I'd call this close to perfect. As-is, it's still the best dashcam I've owned, but plan on keeping a card reader handy for anything you don't grab within a few hours. The reason for the 4 stars and 5 stars in because of the APP.

Finally, my dash cam isnโt training to be a baked potato
I slapped this THINKWARE heat-blocking film on my U3000 because I was tired of my dash cam acting like it was auditioning for Survivor: Windshield Edition. Install was straightforward, and the difference was immediate โ no more โsurface of the sunโ temperature alerts, no more camera melting into a puddle of sadness. Picture quality? Still crisp. Functionality? Perfect. Regrets? Zero. If youโve got a U3000 and live anywhere warmer than a Canadian fall, just get it. Your dash cam will thank you, and your future self will appreciate not having to peel a molten gadget off your windshield.

It's Thinkware, of course it's great!
I replaced an older version Thinkware dash cam with the U3000. The old F770 was great but the clarity of the U3000 is amazing. Day and night even license plates are legible. Great parking mode too! The radar sensors really seem to use alot less battery power in parking mode. Installation of both front and rear cameras was quick and easy on my newer GMC pickup. It was a bit pricey, but I think it's a good value for the price.

Poor quality
I bought this camera thinking it would be good quality. I had it professionally installed using the mounting hardware provided by Thinkware. The result: after three days, it came loose, the cable connectors were bent, and the camera is broken. I can't take it apart, and Amazon is categorically refusing any compensation or refund unless I return the camera. And of course, I can't return it without paying the technician again.

Simply Perfect!
Iโm very happy with this camera. The build quality looks great, and although I wasnโt comfortable installing it myself, I had it professionally installed by Vision Center. So far, everything has been working flawlessly. Setting up the app and connecting the camera to my phone was incredibly easy. The video quality is outstandingโsharp, clear, and impressive both during the day and at night. The included lens filter is also a fantastic addition and helps produce excellent footage. I didnโt end up using the OBD-II connector since my setup was hardwired through an iVolt Mini battery pack, and it works perfectly with my installation. My only wish is that it could support both LTE and the interior camera at the same time. I chose the LTE option, which meant giving up the interior camera. It would be great if a future update could allow LTE, interior camera, and side cameras to all work together simultaneously. Overall, this is an excellent camera system with amazing video quality, easy setup, and reliable performance. Highly recommended!

Good quality product
Good quality product. I used it to replace the black patch that Glass Repair shop had put on when they replaced my car windshield.

Great replacement pad
Easy to install and does as advertised. My dashcam has never fallen off or shown any signs of movement.

Sticks to windshield
I placed this on the windshield on a day of 29 degrees and it stayed. Not sure if it works as a heat shield for the camera as we don't have many of these hot days. Will buy again next time I get a new windshield.
