Casio FX 82 Solar II

Great compact scientific calculator using traditional algebraic entry rather than the confusing system on most other models Clear display and solid construction. Manual is in German but English easily found on Casio website. No batteries required, only solar powered!

The main reason why this calculator is so good, it is not all modern day jazz with formulae and super clever functions. It is old school scientific calculator which has the really useful things like 1) +/- change button 2) pi 3) trig and inverse trig easily 4) fractions a/b or a b/c 5) x squared 6) sq root 7) hrs/mins/sec 8) x to the power y. This is the calculator you had in maths and physics in the 1970s for your O levels and A levels. It is the PERFECT DESIGN of CALCULATOR. No batteries, it works from almost any lighting conditions flawlessly from the solar cell on the front.

Casio has been always the best one in calculator. Great product.

Nice calculator but the instructions are in German. There is no indication in the listing that the calculator does not come with English instructions.

A good calculator , completely solar powered - so no batteries to buy , ever ( good for your pocket and the planet). This also saves using battery life and reduces screen time on your smartphone. I would say that all the functions that most people would need are fairly self explanatory( interestingly the enclosed instructions are seemingly in German alone !?). The ‘slip on/off’ hard protective front case will certainly do its job - can be slightly difficult to slip off.

I really should have read the reviews before buying......THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE IN GERMAN & NOTHING IS STATED WITHIN THE LISTING THAT THE CALCULATOR IS NOT PROVIDED WITH ENGLISH INSTRUCTION, however the warranty is in English.....Totally pointless

BEWARE!!!! It arrived with a German instruction leaflet. Supplier was not interested in providing an English version even when asked to by Amazon. Casio Europe don't keep the English version and won't ask Casio head office for one. Don't try printing the PDF version onto two A4 pages. Even at 2400dpi it is illegible. I only use the calculator when I'm sitting at my computer - pretty pointless!

Loses memory content when solar input is reduced or cuy off.

Quando l'ho ordinata avevo il dubbio che avrebbe funzionato solamente con tanta luce o luce diretta, invece no. Confermo che funziona sempre, come avesse le batterie.

Mein Sohn benötigte neulich für die Schule einen Taschenrechner. Keinen Rechner mit komplexen Funktionen sondern einen einfachen Standard-Rechner. Ohne viel nachzudenken fiel meine Wahl auf einen Solar-Rechner von Casio. Der Grund dafür ist, dass ich selbst zu meiner Schulzeit einen Casio-Rechner hatte und der Hammer ist, dass dieser, nach rund 35 Jahren, noch immer tadellos funktioniert. Auch die Solarfunktion war damals schon verbaut und auch diese ist noch immer gegeben. Einen besseren Langzeittest konnt eich mir für diese Marke nicht vorstellen und daher eben die Entscheidung für den FX-82SolarII-Rechner für meinen Sohn. Dieser ist inzwischen in Nutzung. Alle für einen Siebtklässler erforderlichen Funktionen sind enthalten. Die Bedienung ist nahezu selbsterklärend, zumindest wenn man bereits einmal einen Rechner benutzt hat. Der Tastendruck ist gut, die Solarfunktion funktioniert und mein Sohn ist mit dem rechner sehr glücklich. Er wurde mit einer Schutzhülle ausgeliefert, die einfach über den Rechner geschoben wird. Damit kann der Rechner einfach auch mal im Ranzen transportiert werden, ohne dass er gleich einen Schaden davon trägt. Für den Rechner vergebe ich die vollen 5 Sterne und ich hoffe, dass er für meinen Sohn ebenfalls zu einem treuen Begleiter wird wie mein alter Rechner.

La calculadora científica más simple de Casio, para quienes estudiaron años ha con la vetusta FX-82, aquella que venía en una carcasa rígida de plástico negro. Esta es básicamente la misma calculadora pero con un diseño más moderno, ligero y, eso sí: 100% solar, nada de batería de respaldo ni gaitas; si tienes un puñado de fotones, ya tienes la calculadora funcionando. Y funciona a la perfección para cálculos sencillos que no requieran aparatos más sofisticados. No tiene la presentación en pantalla esa que ves las cosas como se escriben en papel, tan de moda ahora, así que quizá sea más adecuada para profesionales que para estudiantes.
