This gel is the most effective balm for the idiopathic itching on my shoulders, upper arms, and thighs. I have no idea what causes these sudden, middle-of-the night bouts of insane itching—I only know what relieved it. It’s a bit watery and can squirt excessively as my sleepy, befuddled fingers fumble about to get some onto my fingers, but it seems they have improved the consistency and/or the dispensing cap recently. It still needs to be thicker or sold in either a pump (like hand sanitizer, since they are similar consistency) or as a roll-on, which would make it super convenient when one is fumbling about, half asleep, in the dark of night. I have 5-6 tubes all about my house and in every purse and bag because I’m afraid to have a fierce itchy attacking without a tube of TriCalm at hand. I love that it is steroid free. I relied on OTC steroid cream before TriCalm changed my life. It works faster and more reliably. I never leave home without it.

I wore shorts and took a walk then got a bug bite where my underwear elastic hits my leg. it caused a serious allergic reaction that extended to lady parts and was very uncomfortable. I tried all the usual treatments, cortisone, white vinegar (ouch) aloe, oatmeal, salt packs, baking soda soaks, eczema cream, meat tenderizer, (it works on bee stings,) Nothing helped. A friend from back east recommended a domeboro poultice, which worked but was messy and can’t sit around all day sans drawers with a gauze pad on my thigh and 🐈. I needed something I could apply and go. I found this gel formula and layer it: 1. Witch hazel tucks medicated pads 2. Dab with cotton ball to dry 3. Mix of this and calamine lotion 4. Let dry 5. Caladryl baby powder 6. Don’t wear undies or wear men’s boxers until the rash goes away. And wear loose clothing to get everything aired out and dry. The rash is nearly gone. I asked the consulting nurse line and she said that global warming has caused more noxious plants and stinging insects. Even contact with the pollen can cause serious reactions. Try this. It works. It doesn’t cause stinging etc.

I needed a steroid-free bug bite remedy so I thought I would give Tricalm a try. My experiences with the product are as follows… I use it for mosquito bites. They cause me severe itching and drive me nuts! After applying Tricalm, it takes about 15-30 minutes for itch relief. That is longer than I would like, BUT after that, they never itch again! I’ve tried many other products and have always had to re-apply for a few days. To me, this is the real benefit of the product. I wish the initial itch relief was a little more instant, but I’ll gladly trade that for the long lasting effect. One word of caution, the product is very thin so be careful when you first apply or you’ll have more dispensed than you know what to do with.

It works but it is too runny. If the manufacturer used a domed applicator cap like the older product, Domeboro Cooling Gel, I would give it 5-stars.

I don't know what is different about this product but I always return to it for rashes and irritations. Excellent for my contact dermatitis with plants. Son loves it too.

So this stuff saved my hands and I can never say how much I loved having it during my latest bout of dyshidrotic eczema. It was so bad it woke me up throughout the night, and once I purchased this gel, I was able to get back to sleep after applying. It didn’t have a strong smell, which is good in my book, and it got the job done. I will say, it stung upon putting it on, but dyshidrotic eczema opens up little blisters all over my palms so basically everything my hands come into contact with will sting. But the relief and the ability to sleep and not wake up scratching an unscratchable itch was well worth it!! I highly recommend this gel!
