I love this as my every day watch. It’s easy to read when I’m out hiking and it’s light weight. I love that it is solar powered and it keeps perfect time. I wasn’t so keen on the strap as it seemed a bit stiff and uncomfortable so I changed it for a NATO strap which works really well.

Always liked day/date watches and this fits that requirement

This is my third Eco-Drive watch, the first a BM8180 has been excellent, never missed a beat in over seven years. The BM8186 was a replacement when I thought it lost, but, since found, I now have two. Both close enough to the WWII original I wore daily for 30 years until the cost of servicing, value, and delicacy of an 80 year old mechanism suggested an honourable retirement. This 8186 model is pretty much the same as the 8180: same E101 movement, nice clear dial, not too big, never needs winding, if not for the non-perpetual calendar would rarely need adjusting . The dial is better on the older model, the 'Citizen' name better placed, more discrete and with better symmetry. Also, to my eyes the numerals are just a hairs-breadth broader — the older model is just a touch sharper overall, less blobby. For perfection one might also ask that the black case was matt rather than semi-gloss. Citizen's straps always disappoint, those bright oversized shiny eyelets on the strap are an eyesore; the strap was immediately replaced with something less loud, matt-black silicone rubber. A good watch, I expect it to wear and endure as well as the others.

I was first attracted to the smart appearance of this watch the found that its an Eco-Drive so no battery or winding fantastic ! very nice size fits my wrist perfectly easy to read luminous dial the red sweep hand is a nice feature a good quality watch and a welcome addition to my watch collection

Watch is smaller than expected, seemed really small on wrist, strap not the greatest and very small, wouldn’t even fit my wrist on last hole.

Citize siempre te da más por menos. Éste es un reloj de cuarzo solar, lo que significa que la exposición al sol carga una pequeña batería o acumulador y puede funcionar muchos años sin ningún tipo de mantenimiento. Es importante leer las especificaciones del fabricante en relación a la cantidad de exposición solar que necesita para cargar completamente la batería y cuanto tiempo puede funcionar sin recibir luz solar. Se suele aconsejar mantener la batería bastante cargada siempre para evitar problemas. En cuanto a la estética de reloj puedo decir que es impresionante. La legibilidad es inmejorable. Números arábigos blancos sobre fondo negro. La esfera es muy limpia. Las células solares son inapreciables lo cual da una idea de hasta donde ha perfeccionado Citizen esta tecnología. La caja tiene el tamaño perfecto para un reloj de campo. En mi muñeca de 16,5 cm. queda genial. También me ha sorprendido la calidad del lúmen. Tengo el modelo con la caja plateada y la correa verde oliva y creo que este modelo en negro tiene un lúmen aún mejor. He leído algunas opiniones críticas acerca de la correa. Para mí es de muy buena calidad y no tengo problema para ajustarla correctamente. El conjunto de caja, esfera y correa en negro le dan un toque militar verdaderamente genial. La corona viene protegida por dos protuberancias. Si le tengo que poner algún pero, a éste precio, no sabría decir. Cierto es que, por pedir, le pondría un cristal de zafiro y una corona roscada. Por último decir que la resistencia al agua es muy buena (100 m.). En resumen, precioso reloj tipo militar a un gran precio y con un sistema de carga de cuarzo solar que durará óptimamente muchos años sin mantenimiento. Quién sabe, tal vez lo herede tu hijo.

Ich trage diese Uhr nun schon ein paar Monate regelmäßig im Wechsel mit anderen Uhren. Das Armband benötigte einiges Kneten, war doch sehr unbequem am Anfang. Inzwischen habe ich mich jedoch dran gewöhnt und finde die Optik sogar richtig gut. Die Uhr selbst ist das, was man von einer Field Watch erwartet: gut ablesbar, zuverlässig, robust. Und ich, die diese 37mm Uhr als Frau trägt, finde sie auch sehr schön und sie passt gut an mein schmales Handgelenk. Sie ist absolut ganggenau und ich trage die Uhr echt gern. Zum Schutz des Mineral Glases habe ich mir noch für wenige Euro ein Schutzglas besorgt und kann die Uhr so uneingeschränkt jedem empfehlen, der eine einfache, robuste und zuverlässige Uhr sucht.

Very nice watch to wear and not too bulky for my medium wrist. I really like the watch, which is very readable, waterproof. The advantage of this watch is that you do not need to change the battery, because it charges itself with the natural light. I had to replace the original wrist band with a 18mm wide wrist band because it was a bit rigid.

Timekeeping ability initial impression, i.e. unscientific: good! A solid, lightweight watch that is comfortable on your wrist. The wristband, however, is merely functional; replace at first opportunity. Attractive watch face, although numerals and markers offer little contrast in low light. Note that it does not have a screw-down crown so the watch is water resistant, not waterproof. And if you like fewer scratches on the crystal, take precautions, since the crystal is set above the watch case. The watch case is glossy black, not matte. It's not a fashion accessory, but a good watch. C.
