Review: practical guide to Hindi - This is a great book. It explains and has exercises to learn the basics of Hindi. I came to Hindi from Sanskrit and the latter is challenging, to say the least. I have used a number of books and many gave information but did not have a method to learn it. I decided that any book that can teach that Sanskrit alphabet (which Hindi uses) in a clear, understandable, and fun way is well worth the cost and attention. I got interested in Hindi after watching the Disney show "Best Wishes Nikki," which is a Hindi version of "Good Luck Charlie." If you want to learn Hindi, this is your book. Review: Perfect for native speakers, but not readers! - Can I just say that this is my best spontaneous purchase yet! After starting Uni, I've been struggling with my identity, and grew closer to my Indian culture after being exposed to bigotry. I grew up speaking gujarati, which is very similar to hindi. I'm exposed to hindi/gujju mostly at home, yet I never learned how to read or write in either language. This book is AMAZING. I ended up learning how to read and write in hindi in less than two days! The lessons are beyond my expectations. Of course, I might be biased because I'm a native speaker (not reader/writer), but I recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn the beautiful Devanagari script! :D

Good book but text darkness is not right
Book arrived in right condition, I have borrowed this book from a friend and liked it so much that ended up buying it, however the darkness of the text, looks dark grey instead of black text color which show the print issue. Overall I am happy with the book content which is very helpful and even if you read and studied the whole book also can be used as future reference to recall the knowledge that you forgot specially pure words from this language. I gave 4 stars because of darkness and print issue.

Fills the gap in beginner Hindi resources
I'm not very far into the book, but it's exactly what I was looking for and at a great price. I want to learn both how to read and speak Hindi, and not just a few survival phrases. Most resources I found either taught a few sentences with only transliteration, or they taught only the alphabet. Many of the more modern language learning approaches (e.g. DuoLingo) lack Hindi support. There are subscription websites which provide a sea of material, but they are pricey, and the material is presented almost exclusively in an unwieldy PDF format. I tried those for a while, but I didn't always want to sit down at a computer to learn, and it's hard to flip back and forth compared to a physical book. So that's why I say this is the best resource I've found. It's easy to sit down every day and do five to ten minutes of work to keep one's skills moving forward, but also to dive into longer learning sessions. I'm still supplementing with other materials like podcasts, particularly for pronunciation, but this book will be the foundation of my basic Hindi education.

Not a real beginner book
Not for kids to learn from beginning. It’s says something on first page and different on the second. Good practice book though.

Arrived early
This is truly an amazing book to get, if you're trying to learn Hindi. I learned a little Hindi, watching ZeeTV, when I was hospitalized back in 2013, since then, I've been learning through movies, TV shows, Music, and Food, but I want to speak it fluently, so I ordered the book.

Perfect practice book!
I ordered this Hindi alphabet workbook not realizing I had ordered it before. However, I am not going to return it, because the more I can practice writing, the more I will remember and the better I will get at it. I recommend this workbook to anyone who wants to learn the Hindi language!

I like how gradual the entire process is
I like how gradual the entire process is. The author eases you very slowly into the material, making it very easy to learn the Hindi script as well as basic grammar. I actually find myself enjoying the process. The only thing missing that could make this book even better is an audio example, but either way the book is great for those who prefer a slow introduction to Hindi.

This book was purchased on Kindle, as always the order came in quickly I have not had an opportunity to use it as yet but have scanned the material and I will find it very helpful. Thank you.

Exactly what I have been looking for.
This book is the perfect starting point for a child or adult wishing to learn the very basics of reading and writing in Hindi script. The lessons are so clear and concise. I really like the format. The book would be an excellent tool for native speakers teaching small children the fundamentals of the language. For non native speakers, it would still be totally possible to teach your self using this book but I personally, will need extra learning aids/ materials to help me with the correct pronunciation for vowels etc - I have a CD from another Hindi language course that undertook some years ago. A good Hindi dictionary is going to be a must have item, too. I'm really really pleased with this book and feel it will set me on the right path for future Hindi language courses.

Meinerseits: klare Kaufempfehlung!
