When I plugged in to a 2003 Audi, I was surprised that it did an auto VIN to read the ECU which my previous dongle didn’t do where I had to search manually. The app is easy to use and navigate, and it provides clear and detailed information. The device and the app work together seamlessly, and the Bluetooth connection is fast and stable using my Samsung Android phone. With the tool it found that the status LED light very useful which showed the power, bluetooth connectivity and a status/communications light. One thing to note is that when you plugin in the device to a vehicle, you will need to download the corresponding vehicles database/packages to the app which did take around 15 minutes on my connection. I think this is a fantastic OBD2 scanner for the money and the features. It does more than my previous dongle I used to use and it helps me save money and time on repairs in the longrun. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to do their own car diagnostics and maintenance or even understand faults that arise on vehicles before they take to a garage. I will keep reviewing this on other makes and models and see how I get on with those. I will update this review where required.

Excellent product. Connects to phone via an app, easy to set up. You can view fault codes, live data, reset battery monitor after installing new battery, etc. Worked on both Ford Galaxy 2017 and 2010 diesels. Will need to pay a subscription after 1 year.

This is a well made and capable little scan tool and very powerful. It is not an ELM it is far more powerful. It is a proper bidirectional control unit. Manufacturer specific software has to be downloaded but it is fairly comprehensive and very user friendly. It is capable of programming parts and will work on most modern cars. on older cars early to mid 2000s it's a bit hit and miss but this is probably down to capabilities in the car rather than the tool. There are TSBs and repair documents but these are limited to specific manufacturers and not all makes have it available.Overall I am very happy with it. Would I recommend it as a first scan tool or replacement ? absolutely

I’ve had a few different brands of these little Bluetooth scanners in the past and they have all seemed pretty much the same in what they can do. This one though is in a different league. Ok you have to subscribe after the first year to get all its capabilities but well worth it in my opinion. Because it’s bi directional (many aren’t) you are able to control and program most parts of your vehicle so makes it easier for fault finding etc. you do need to download the data for each specific make which means it’s far less generic than a lot of others. (That bit is free). It does give you access to certain parts of the vehicle where you need to be careful and know what you are doing though so it’s not just a ‘poke it and see’ thing! Physically it’s really nicely made and looks and feels good quality. Altogether a really good item for the price.

Why top scanner - Does same coding, diagnostic and test activation of these launch scanners which cost 4000 euro! - Very easy and quick to use. - it does all cars and all functions even if a bulb out it will tell you, even if fuse will tell you. - For 49 usd a year this is nothing for what you will get from this scanner (personal or garage use) Honestly if you look for a diagnostic tool. Look nowhere else, this is the one will do it all ( coding, test active, diagnostic, servicing reset) live data etc. Customer service was very professional and helpful, my diagnostic tool could not show updates and they straight away replaced it with new one. Thank you topdon for having a tool like this in the market for that cheap price. As well as having very professional and excellent customer service.

18 5 2026. Still no contact and no way to get money back from Amazon or Topscan !!!! Worked brilliantly, then it stopped working no amount of reinstalling apps updating firmware , funny it goes wrong just as next years software subscription is due. Online support in India want videos before talking… great when you’ve very little signal and a broken down car that days before could be fixed by a sensor reset that it can no longer do. impossible to contact customer services and routines to return send you round in circles. Wouldn't buy again. Which I regret doing as I did!!

Well packaged and good solid feel. Needed this to regen a blocked dpf and reset. Did the job well and accurate data. Lots of options and activations. Free make specific downloads to your phone. Unfortunately mine stopped communicating with my car but I've returned it and reordered same model. Overall, good product for the money.

Perfect tool for DIY and car buyers, helped myself and and friend clear dashboard lights such ESP and for myself an Engine light was cleared with a DPF forced regeneration. Easy to use and extremely useful to have.

I am reviewing this for one vehicle at this time, a 2007 Subaru Forester X. I will get into the details about that in a bit but let's get general. It's free for the first year, but if it's still being used and you can catch a sale... But be smart, you can make another email. I would just buy a new unit on sale for like $60, BAM! You just got a new unit and another year. Some may be upset about the limitations, but let's be honest if it works for you it is still by far the cheapest I've found to do ANY bidirectional kung fu. It's ui isn't great, but poke around and you can get a hold of quite a bit. It will scan for your VIN, and then your model range or exact year. You can put it in manually but it finds mine quick so I haven't tried it. From what I see you need to scan the "BCM" or mini computer of each part. So you scan the main ECU and it will give you the general things which is pretty limited for me. It does offer many different cars and you download each individual car's database. So for my SUV it's old, but it does what I need. Kinda. So my main reasoning was the difficulty in getting my throttle body to relearn itself properly. It has an easy procedure if your A/C system is good, mine is not. Topscan says it can do the throttle relearn, but it simply gives instructions to restart, run for 10 seconds and it's done. It is not indeed done, nothing changed. The magic is to control your idle, which was why it needs to relearn the throttle but since that didn't work eventually if it's driven enough and isn't dying at every stop it relearns itself. So the trick is there is an idle adjustment. It's in a separate section, but it is rudimentary yet it'll do. So it starts off at whatever rpm your engine is by 25. So it tells me it's at 825rpm... It lies my tach an loping motor says under 600rpm. So here's what you do, there's the ability to add or subtract in denominations of 50 but the RPM accuracy isn't great so here's what I did. I put mine up to 1075 RPM and you press start. I believe it won't stop until you press the stop button. It 100% keeps my car from dying when coming to a stop or just any time the clutch is in and I'm not adding throttle it died in the before time, so last week. It's only been about 30 miles, so just to and from work so it hasn't learned itself yet. So Topscan... Again for me it's doing what I want, but it does seem kind of lacking otherwise. However, it's still all the stars because there is nothing comparably priced with the features. This ain't no mechanics thousand dollar scan tool, but for me I just remember... $60 vs $600-1200, SOLD! It can act like a normal code reader and such too, but here's why it's worth the extra $40 over an ELM327, it read and cleared my airbag code! Granted it came right back, but now I know it's my driver's airbag or the wiring for that one in particular. How much would a shop charge just to tell you that? Idk in this economy but less than that scanner & a year of big boy scanning included. Download the app before you buy, add your car and see what it will let you do for your car. I did and am not looking back! In a newer or different car it may be so much easier, but this is not simple for me at least. Totally worth it.

Es algo complicado de instalar y de usar las primeras veces. Tiene mucho soporte para muchas marcas de coches, pero si recomiendo ver un tutoríal o algun unboxing para entender varias de las funciones, que incluso con practica a veces es algo complicada pero en general es un gran escáner y tiene soporte y garantía. Consejo revisa si tu teléfono que usaras para conectar el scanner es de 64bits en Android, porque la app no es compatible para sistemas operativos de 32 bits.

PRO 🙂: buon software - compatibilità con Smartphone - molte funzioni disponibili - risolve alcuni problemi. CONTRO 🙃: alcune funzioni possono non essere compatibili con l'auto. Ho usato questo obd per esplorare le funzioni aggiuntive della mia auto, valutare alcuni dati e sbloccare alcune funzioni. È un obd compatto, ho apprezzato il software android, che funziona bene e ben leggibile. Tutto in italiano. 🚘 Ha molte funzioni, l'accesso a molti controlli. Nella mia auto non ho l'accesso a alcune funzionalità perché bloccate dalla centralina, o perché non esistono, ma si possono leggere molti dati e impostazioni nascoste. E posso azzerare alcuni errori. Probabilmente in base all'auto e alla centralina si possono o meno sbloccare determinate funzionalità. Può essere utile per appassionati di meccanica o per chi come me si occupa della manutenzione della propria auto. 👍
