Great quality, Great sound and Great price!
I was a little upset when I got these because they were open box and it didn't say anything about it in the description but everything was still wrapped and never used. For $120 it's a great deal. They sell for $180 everywhere else. In my 2009 Accord they work perfect. I have a 5 channel amp the pushes 75w to 4 channels @ 4ohms and 500w for a sub @ 2 ohms and guys it's so loud I can't get past 3/4 volume while I am inside the car, at that volume I am well over 125 db. The best part is at 1/4 volume it sounds amazing. So clear on the highs and plenty of midbase from the 6.5's. The amp is a Stinger MT 1000.5, a Kicker TRTP downfiring sub w/passive radiator and the rear deck has a set of Skar FSX 65 loud speakers with a range of 100hz to 8,000hz. A bit more control over the teeters would be nice but I am not going to get a dsp because most of it can be handled by the factory head unit and amp adjustments. Obviously there are better speakers for a ton more $ but none that can give you this sound for this price. Easy to install and great Alpine quality. I love them. Guys...get an amp. Even 50w a corner will make a huge difference in sound, 75w is perfect.

great sound quality & great bass
sounds absolutely cinema, using an amp (Recoil DI550.4 in my case) and good amp wiring kits brings the most out of the speakers. Sound quality is amazing, really sketches & details the photo, mid-bass is great, can really feel it thru the steering wheel & paints the picture, but you still have to get a sub to frame the painting (Hamr is for midbass, low sub freq will hurt any door speakers). great option to upgrade any stock audio system.

Great set-up that pairs perfect with my Alpine CVA-1014R
Perfect fit although mounting was a little confusing when installing on my '00 integra but not impossible. Sounds is perfect and once I tweaked the settings on my radio I have great bass and mids. Functions as intended they are speakers its not rocket science. Great value nothing else to say really.

Good Quality ona budget.
These Alpine components are honestly solid, especially if you’re coming from stock speakers. You can immediately tell they’re cleaner and more detailed. The highs are crisp without being annoying, and the tweeters actually sound good instead of that cheap, piercing noise you get from budget brands. Vocals come through clear, which is nice if you listen to rap or anything with heavy vocals. The mids are where these shine. Music sounds fuller and more alive compared to factory speakers. You actually hear details you didn’t notice before. Now for the reality check: The bass is decent but not crazy. Don’t expect these to hit like a sub. They have some punch, but if you’re used to heavy bass, you’re still gonna want a subwoofer. They’re rated around 80W RMS, which is legit , but they really wake up when you give them a proper amp. Running them off a weak head unit kinda wastes their potential. Build quality is good, typical Alpine. Nothing flashy, just reliable. Cons: Bass is not enough on its own Need an amp to really shine Not the loudest if underpowered Pros: Clean, clear sound Good highs without harshness Strong mids and vocals Great upgrade from stock Overall: If you’re on a budget but still want quality, these are a no-brainer. Not competition-level, but way better than most cheap speakers. Pair them with an amp and a sub, and now you’re actually cooking. Rating: 8/10

Sound quality is good.
Nice set of component speakers. Sound quality is nice, crisp and clear. You can turn it up and still have the clarity. You can rely on Alpine for quality speakers that won't brake the bank.

A set of R-type speakers that can keep up with R- type speakers
Let me start off by saying I have been running a set of Alpine R-S65C.2, in the front and a set of Alpine R-S65.2, in the rear with an R type 4 chanel amp for the last 5 years. I have been running these with not problems professional tuned crisp and clear sound. I felt like something was missing with the rear speakers. They sound clear but did not feel the back like the front ones did. So I came to the conclusion that it had to be the coaxial speakers. I try to get an other set of Alpine R-S65C.2, but they are discontinued and if you can find them they want almost double what I paid for them. So I came across these which cost what I had originally paid for the Alpine R-S65C.2, and decided to give them a try. Let me tell you that the Alpine S-S65C.2, can keep up with Alpine R-S65C.2, I can tell a little bit of a difference but that because I have been using Alpine products over 20+ years. They are not as clear as the R-type but the difference is so small that it's not noticeable when they are playing together. They do the job that I was looking for to fill the back with sound just like the ones in the front. Last thing. worked of advice always prioritizing component speakers over coaxial speakers they just fill the car with more sound.

Big Upgrade from Factory
These were a big upgrade from the stock speakers in my 2025 honda civic! Definitely dont skip out on installing the tweeters too (i did at first) they made a noticeable difference in the high end clarity definitely worth the extra time if your doing it yourself. Do be aware to get the best sound they need proper power and alot of stock stereos may not provide enough power by themselves. If using with the stock stereo for the 11th gen honda civic I highly recommend getting the Beat sonic ENA-3h3 plug and play amp, it alone will make the factory speakers sound much better, but upgrading to these alpines will give you the clarity, crispyness and clean bass the factory speakers cant beat!

Clean sounding speakers, paired with an amp putting out 80W RMS.
Sound great, installed temporarily without an amp they were pretty quiet and flat (as to be expected, most stock audio systems call for 2ohm speakers with a much higher sensitivity as they are often paper cone). Once you pair them with an amp you’ll really hear the difference, in my opinion it’s not worth replacing your stock speakers (with these at least) without adding an amp of some sort - a lot of wasted value left on the table! Ended up with two of these in the front and two of the coax models from the same S2 lineup in the rear; everything is running off of a Hertz HCP 4D 4 channel amplifier outputting 75W RMS (<1% THD) up to 85W RMS (10% THD) per channel at 4 Ohms. Seems to be the sweet spot for the 80W RMS these speakers are rated for. Running off my stock head unit as it’s heavily integrated with a bunch of the vehicles features. Sound amazing with the Hertz amp, tested with a Pioneer A6704 amp before I switched to the Hertz as I wasn’t satisfied with the volume or sound. The tweeters aren’t too sharp and put out more detailed + cleaner sound than expected from a midrange speaker (keep in mind, it’s all personal reference). Still sound good at high volumes, nice for when you want to listen to your music with the windows down on a highway or something. I previously owned a set of JBL GTO609C’s and I prefer these Alpines mainly due to the higher frequency detail they put out. The JBL’s are for you if you want a slightly more bass heavy sound and don’t want/can’t have a separate subwoofer. The Alpine’s are definitely a little more “sparkly” compared to the Jbl’s “warmer” sound. I’m running two 12” SQ-oriented subs crossed over with these so my main focus was clear and precise mids and highs with some decent punch when needed, wasn’t really worried about the low end. Overall i’m very happy with these speakers, after a week of listening and adjusting things i’m satisfied with the sound and quality of these speakers, I do wish they came with an active crossover for the tweeters instead of a passive one but in the end I don’t feel the need to change them so it’s all good in my books! If you can get them on sale go for it, I doubt you’ll regret getting them especially when compared to some of the other notable mid range speakers in the market right now.

Okay for the price I guess
They sound okay with the rest of my system but on their own they are kind of quiet and sound thin. I have them hooked up to channel 1 and 2 of a recoil DI550.4 tuned with a multimeter and 1kHz 0db test tone to 80W RMS. The install also required modifying my stock tweeter mounts and drilling holes to mount the speaker. I also bought some 6.5” silicone baffles to go with these but they were unusable which sucks to have wasted the money.
