If you use cheaper lenses this will be a revelation and worth every penny. Highly recommended.
If, like me you have always purchased reasonable but cheaper lenses then I urge you to splash out. I use this lens on my OMD E-M5. The lens is beautifully made, very well designed, fast, a joy to use and produces images with a sharpness and clarity that I have never experienced before. At the knock-down price it is a bargain. I don't think I will ever buy another cheap lens. Highly recommended. Pros Build quality is superb and it feels as though it will take a few knocks and last a life-time. Usability is superb and it is a joy to use. The focus ring is smooth and well weighted and the ability to switch to manual focus by just sliding the focus ring is such a bonus. The zoom ring is again is smooth and well weighted. The lens is heavy but is very well balanced when attached to a camera. Sharpness is fantastic with little or no visible lens aberrations unless you look really intently at the images. Fast at F2.8 so low light and fast action shots are easier to nail. Has a separate function button (but may need a camera firmware update to be usable) Weather resistant and good in very low temperatures. Lens does not externally extend on zooming. So you don't have to lock it when on your shoulder or find it has extended on its own accord. Cons Lens hood is good and I like thew idea of having it slide down the lens, however it can drop off easily and is the only aspect that feel a little flimsy. It is heavy and fairly large so not as travel friendly. Need to invest in a heavy duty shoulder strap.

Superb lens, better than hoped
This is a superb lens, focus is fast and accurate. Spec isn’t 100% clear, it’s f2.8 across the whole range but also can go to f22 so depth of field is never a problem. So pleased I bought it.

Sharp lens, great quality though expensive.
Have used this lens to photograph birds in flight and in action on a lake, really good image quality. Autofocus is very fast. Amazed how light the lens is for it's focal length. I came to Olympus recently and use an E-M5 iii with this lens. Really pleased. The lens is quite a size on the brilliantly compact E-M5 iii but when I removed the Lens tripod support ring, then it's easy to hold. I've used other manufacturers for years - clunky big lenses though good quality. Nice to have this compact system to travel and enjoy. It costs a lot, quite a commitment to pay this amount but so far the lens has performed well. Amazon delivered promptly. I was hesitant at first to pay this amount on Amazon rather than a good Camera store but went ahead during 'lockdown' and it's been fine.

Great tele zoom lens
Such a great lens, only had it out a handful of times but it proven to be fantastic already! Its much bigger than my other pro olympus lenses but what you you expect from a tele zoom lens at f2.8

Great.
Great lens works well with the 14 and 20 extenders.

I was not disappointed
The lens lives up to the great reviews. The AF is very quick and completely silent. I have no issues with accuracy, nails focus great. It's a bit large for the M4/3 system, but I use it like pictured - without the tripod foot and without the lens hood. It's rather compact like that, considering the long focal length and the constant f/2.8 aperture. It balances well on cameras with proper grip (pictured on E-M1 mk.II) but it's frontheavy when I put it on my smaller camera (Panasonic GX80). The pictures from it are great - sharp, with good contrast. Sharpness is very good at min and max focal length, even wide open. It's even better at f/4. The bokeh is nothing special.

I was expecting there was going to be a trade off when switching from full frame to four thirds but after using the camera for the last few days with the 12 - 40 pro lens and today the 40 - 150 I couldn't be happier! The lens is expensive but work every penny
I'm a previous long term Canon user but have recently sold all of my Canon gear and replaced with the the new M1 mark ii and a few Olympus pro lenses. I received the 40 - 150 lens this morning and after a few test shots the image quality is outstanding, I actually prefer this camera and lenses to the Canon Mark iii and L Lenses I've just sold... mainly because it's so much lighter, I was expecting there was going to be a trade off when switching from full frame to four thirds but after using the camera for the last few days with the 12 - 40 pro lens and today the 40 - 150 I couldn't be happier! The lens is expensive but work every penny :) Delivery was super fast too, ordered last night and received this morning, thanks Amazon! Looking forward to receiving my 7 - 14 f2.8 tomorrow.

Use the lens before the return date runs out
Be aware the lens I received works for a few shots and then the view through the lens goes black, only the info from the camera body is visible. To rectify this I have to turn the camera off for at least 2 minutes then back on again but this fix only last for a few more shots. There is no issue with the firmware, it's up to date, batteries are fully charged, the connection between the lens and camera body is tight and secure. I do not have this issue with any of my others lenes, the return date is only 4 weeks after the purchase date so now I'm stuck trying to get it corrected. So if you buy this lens put it to use right away, hopefully you will not have the same problems but you never know.

Excellent lens
Excellent product, sharp images and quick auto focus, the manual focus clutch it also a great feature, bokeh is little on the harsher side. excellent for portraits, wield file and low light photography.

Bought it for poorly lit indoor rodeos - not disappointed!
Sharp photos, even at wide open aperture. Focus is fast, even in low light (requiring iso of 8000 or more for fast shutter speeds), although there is occasional focus search. Certainly the heaviest lens I use with my Oly OM-D E-M10, but I can shoot hand-held for 3 - 4 hrs without tiring. Seems to hold focus well even while zooming. I've attached a photo in two versions: shot raw (post-processed with Raw Therapee) and jpeg right out of the camera (slightly underexposed): f/3.2, 1/320 sec, ISO 8000, 82mm.
