We were looking for a reliable cable to put our growing puppy on so she could run around and play safely while we were working or relaxing outside. This steel wire tie-out cable has been the absolute perfect solution for our yard. The 25-foot length turns out to be ideal; it gives her plenty of room to move around freely, yet it is short enough to keep her from getting tangled up around too many trees or outdoor obstacles. She loves having the freedom to run around without us having to constantly worry about her darting off. The overall build quality of the cable is fantastic. The protective PVC coating prevents our puppy from chewing directly on the wire and shields the cable from wear and tear when it rubs against objects in the yard. It is very versatile and can easily be attached around a tree, post, or any fixed anchor; we personally attach ours to a large heavy-duty ground stake, and it works flawlessly. The one important thing to watch out for is that during the hot summer months, you shouldn't leave the metal clips lying out in direct sunlight when not in use, as they can get extremely hot and potentially burn your hands or your dog. Other than keeping that mind, this tie-out has been a fantastic purchase, and I would definitely recommend it to any pet owner looking for a safe, durable way to give their dog some outdoor space!

So far this tie out cable has worked really well for my 110 pound German Shepard! I have had it a few weeks now and I wanted to wait to write a review because I wanted to be sure there were no product issues. I have had no issues and it’s sturdy and does not get all knotted up like the much thinner tie-out cable we purchase from the store for our pit bull who is half my GSD’s size. I am outside in the front yard working while I put him on this cable, I don’t leave him unattended just because. I also clip it to his harness so it won’t choke him. He is not very friendly to dogs he doesn’t know or some strangers and I feel completely okay having him on this cable because I really don’t think he will break it, trying to get at anything he feels is a threat. It’s pretty long so he can lay in the grass or stay in the garage on the couch. I added a thick carabiner to the end so I can loop it through and attach it to the loop in the cable just for my sanity. The clips on the end seem pretty strong but my baby is very very strong so the carabiner gives me peace of mind. He is older and hasn’t tried to chew through it, he doesn’t do that anymore he’s 4 now, he only chews on his squeaky toys and tennis balls. The price was much cheaper than any in the box stores so that of course is why I pretty much use Amazon for stuff like this. It came within one day with Prime as well. I tie it around a tree in the yard and double it up too because it’s long enough to do that and still give him room to play. It’s well made and I feel like we will get a decent amount of time out of this purchase. But I tie it always to his harness not a collar, I definitely recommend that. I also bring it inside when it’s not in use so it won’t rust but I did accidentally leave it outside and it wasn’t rusty at all. Anyway give it a try!

I've used this cable for a long time I love it it works like it should the only downside is a piece of the plastic covering that goes over the actual cable broke off about a third way down and it is starting to rust my dog is very strong and he will take off running when it is attached to him and the little click down hooks or whatever you call them have not busted out in the cable has not came undone where it's clamped together is a very sturdy cable I would buy this again

Works great for my 55 pound bull dog who likes to run after cats. Keeps him safe as well as the neighborhood cats. Very easy to use

Very happy and confident that this holds my 50lb dog. This chain is very pliable. I love that it is covered with the rubbery coating to help with the moisture and any dirt on the ground. This coating helps the chain from snagging.
