How can I sort out the bitter groats?

My wife is from Ukraine as are these. She says light colored can be not as good and removes. Maybe this helps....maybe not.

Have the hulls been removed from these groats?

Yes the hulls removed and there roasted, very few impurities , very tasty , if you are looking for buckwheat hulls to refill your pillow or bolster , someone else sells just the hulls for that. If you want buckwheat for sprouting , these are roasted and won't sprout. Look for green ones.
