Now I’m set with hose clamps for quite some time. Nice, thin, plastic case. Clamps are sturdy and will get the job done.

Got these because they are CHEAP. But that is the key word, CHEAP. These work, I am using a good number. But if you really want a good squeeze, like fuel lines maybe use two or use better. These are great but maybe not the best for "Mission Critical" stuff. I would not use these on my spaceship : )

Hose clamps are probably not at the top of most peoples must have tool lists but I think they should be. While they are not in the same category as duct tape and WD40 they are incredibly useful little items. For instance, I have an outdoor clothes dryer where one strings the lines back and forth so that clothes can be hung from them. It is always tricky to get the line to where it is really taut. That's where the hose clamps come into play. As I am stringing the line and pulling it tight I use hose clamps around the tubing to keep the line tight. When I am done I can either remove the clamps or just leave them where they are. Either way the line is tight and it stays that way. Hose clamps also work really well for securing strings when constructing a simple pvc pipe trellis for a vegetable garden. I use them to secure pipe insulation around my hose bibs and standpipes in the winter to prevent frozen pipes and big plumbing bills. This box of clamps has a nice variety of sizes and the price is great.

Can't hold anything under pressure. Water or air. Strips when tightened. Useless for any plumbing needs. With multiple clamps, I figured I just had a bad one. No biggie, I got more. After 5 of them and going to a larger size, none held under pressure from just a garden hose.

Nice setup has all the smaller clamps I need in a nice tray!
