Strong suction
This item works really well. The suction cup keeps the adapter sticks to the windshield of my vehicle. Highly recommended for windshield phone holder because of the strong suction. I gave up on other suction cup because they may stay for 6 months or a year but eventually after hot and cold weather, they will fall off. This suction on the other hand uses vacuum pressure to keep it sticks to the windshield.

Not so Ehh... ***UPDATE!***
***Update!******After a few weeks of use, I'm impressed! I set one up as a dashcam mount in my oilfield work truck(pictured). It's been over a week of rough roads without a single pump. I left the other in my personal truck set up the same way, baking in 100°F temps. It didn't budge.I'm leaving my original review up to show my skepticism. I did move my rating from 3 to 5 stars.Ulanzi just works!I still wouldn't use this as an external mount (SC-02 is flawless for that) and it's not designed for heavy objects (action cameras are perfect for this). I still would like to see the arm removable, but it's not a show stopper. I'll definitely buy more as I need them. ***Original review...I can see why folks give this a bad review for securement. Very flexible base (in the video). If there's anything more than the lightest objects attached to it, it'll break the seal.Not a big deal for me. My plans are to use them (I bought two) for inside vehicles and one static surfaces. So if they do break free, they'll only fall a few inches. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THEM FOR THE EXTERIOR OF A VEHICLE. On a mirror or window in the house would be fine within the weight limits.My biggest disappointment is that the ball and socket arm isn't removable. Or at least not easily. It makes about half of the 1/4-20 holes not usable. It's not designed to even take the socket arm off. You can't even open the jaws enough to clear the ball. I'll eventually force it off one of them to make it more versatile.Also, as others have stated, the phone and Gopro mounts are not up to Ulanzi's quality. Save us a few bucks by doing away with them. Personal opinion. I'd gladly pay more for better quality accessories and a removable socket arm. Fix the flex and this would be a great tool in my arsenal!Ulanzi is top notch in my book.If you want to use on the exterior of a car, I highly recommend the Ulanzi SC-02. I've had one for over six months and I trust it enough that I just bought four more.

It didn't survive one fall from 6 feet
Well, it was great while it worked. You have to remember to pump the suction cup every 10 minutes, otherwise, the seal will break and your rig will fall to the ground. The connection between the pump and the suction cup is make of plastic, so it is fragile, and in my case, it broke because it was the weakest point of failure. Otherwise, the rest of the mount is quite sturdy because it is made of metal. I think it is a design flaw to make this piece out of plastic, but it could be a question of engineering and expansion were it made of metal. Hard to say.

Defective by design
Repetitively falls off a clean windshield. Falls off even if I moisten it first with water.I think it's defective by design as the rubber is too hard, not \not the kind of rubber that you would expect to stick to anything.Also, even when fully tightened, the mount arm moves easily. It needs separate tightening knobs for each side.

Very quick to attach, adjust, and set. Very solid phone holder that kept the phone in place during rally driving. Pump mechanism is quick and easy to pump and also detach. Very happy with overall build quality.
