Great DVD Player for the money!
Having been stationed overseas in Europe, I accumulated a collection of PAL DVDs. I had a great DVD player that was region free but alas, all good things must come to an end. When shopping for a new one to fit my needs, I ran across this one and ordered it. It arrived fast and after setting it up it works like a charm! No problems with other region playback and the picture quality is great. My only negative is that remote is small and sometimes it is hard to read which button is which or my fingers hit more than one. Other than that one small comment, if you are in need of a good quality DVD player, this one is for you!

Excellent DVD Player!
I bought this DVD player to play English โLast of the Summer Wineโ DVDs - and it plays them flawlessly! I recently bought the complete Bonanza DVD set, which are American versions. My Sony blu-ray player has big problems playing some of the Bonanza set, but this DVD player has no problems with them at all. It also fits the image to the full screen unlike the blu-ray player. The picture quality is excellent. I highly recommend this DVD player!

Overall a decent DVD player for overseas DVD formats
Overall, I am happy with this DVD player. For $31 and some change, it does the job. I purchased it for watching Cosmos: Possible Worlds, which I purchased from New Zealand with their region's DVD format. For some reason, this series has still not been released in DVD or Blu-ray disc format in the U.S. (We can thank the lawyers for that!) However, there are a couple of things one should know. The buttons on the remote control are a little small, but to me it isn't a big deal. Also, I find when I plug the player into the wall, it automatically powers up. So, just be aware that if you are not ready to use the player after plugging it in, remember to turn it off. Again, no big deal to myself. The significant factor with the player is the following: When I put the player on a hard surface while playing, i.e. a table or floor, it has a "whining" sound that is noticeable, so an increase in the T.V. volume may be needed. I placed a bath towel on top of the player, which helped muffle the whining sound. However, one time the whining sound got a bit louder that usual, and the DVD would "lock up" for several seconds, before starting again. Out of frustration, I picked up the player and started to shake it a little. However, when I picked it up off the floor, the whining sound went away. I then placed the player on top of the bath towel, and it still remained quiet, and played fine thereafter. I also find that with this player, if I leave the DVD on its "Main Menu" format, i.e. before pressing "Play" to start a chapter, or if I leave the player in "Pause" mode for a bit of time, both these instances cause the "whining" sound to start up again. So, the point here is, just start playing the DVD and don't pause it for long, and it should be fine. All that I mentioned here is from my own experiences and trial and error with my own player. To recap: 1) place the DVD player on a soft surface, such as a bath towel, before playing. And just play your DVDs when using the player, i.e. don't leave it on "Main Menu" or "Pause" for too long. I hope my novel here is helpful, and again for the $31 price, I cannot complain. Good luck!

Great inexpensive option to finish watching foreign TV series
We have gotten hooked on a number of foreign TV series that have aired on local TV, only to find that the latest seasons were not yet available locally and no indication when/if they might be. At less than $40 dollars this was worth a gamble to try to obtain a current solution to finish a series using foreign DVDs. So far this little box has been a real champ-we've finished one series using out-of-region DVDs without a hitch. I had forgotten this DVD player came with an HDMI cable, and we hooked it up and it has worked without a hitch. The only slight issue is the remote: it has a lot of useful buttons, but the remote is quite small and the buttons are tiny; wish it were bigger but it works fine (with a slight lag). Tip: this DVD plus a number of foreign DVDs could make a great gift package for a foreign media fan.

Wish It Had Worked
I needed an inexpensive basic multi-region DVD player to watch some discs that I'm unable to play on my US region player. This one seemed perfect. It was small and a good price. I received the player, opened it and set it up. It was extremely easy to set up. I put in the first disc. It played. There were a couple of spots where the picture would move in slow motion before speeding up and righting itself and then it would lose sync. I chalked it up to the disc. I tried a second disc. That disc played even worse...continuously freezing, going into slow motion and loss of sync making the disc completely unwatchable. I tried a disc I knew without a doubt played perfectly and it too played in slow motion in spots, froze and lost sync at various points. I had it hooked up via component cables that came with the unit. Thinking that may be the cause of the issues, I hooked it up via an HDMI cable. The only difference that made was the picture quality improved greatly. I got frustrated and gave up trying to figure out what the issue was. The following day, I tried again. That's when it all went downhill. I put in a disc and the logo screen popped up. At first, it said 'no disc'. I ejected the disc, cleaned it and tried again...the logo screen came on and it said "loading". I could hear a spinning sound but nothing happened. I ejected the disc and tried another one, one that had played the previous day albeit with problems. Once again, the logo screen came on and said 'loading'. It did that for about 5 minutes before turning itself off. So now, no discs play...I can't get beyond the loading screen. Save your money...this player isn't worth the hassle.

Easy setup Plug & Play Well Worth the Price
Easy to use right out of the box just hook up hdmi or RCA cables and play. DVDโs play clearly. Several months later Iโm still trying to figure out remote. You must point the remote directly at the player. Buttons are very close together which is difficult to use with big hands/fingers. Unit is a bit noisy when changing programs NOT during playing of dvdโs. I bought this because I can use my UK and US CDโs. I love BBC sitcomโs and can get UK versions of โComplete seriesโ for many times a quarter of the price of the US sellers. Doesnโt made sense considering they have to ship allot further BUT. Iโm thinking of buying another of this DVD players as a backup. Iโve played at least 40 DVDโs so far with no problem but gee, for this low of priceโฆ..Definitely a great buy!

NDMI output.....
Replaced my first one because HDMI output, put nothing out. Replacement arrives overnight. No Definition Media Interface... Again. Tried three cables, and tested on multiple TV's. Only reason I'm keeping it is because it's region free and will play media dvd's. Edit: Player was replaced very quickly, no issues found and works perfect!

LP-099 M/R DVD Player
LONPOO-099 Multi-Region DVD Player is worth every penny until it fails (which is about 9-12 months). The first one I bought was working great until about the (9) month-mark. The power mysteriously shorted out and the โdisc eject featureโ failed. Luckily, I had no dvds in the player. Being a electronic handyman, I decided to open up the box. I discovered the power connector to the motherboard was scorched and the rubber band controlling the โdisc ejectโ had broke. Trashed the player and bought a new one. Prefacing my current experience: 2023 was a busy year for me, I wasnโt home for much. When I was, I would watch my Chinese martial arts or K-Drama dvds. Today, decided to continuing watching whatever dvd i had currently in the player. After finishing it, I went to switch it to the next disc. To my amazement, the โdisc ejectโ feature failed to operate as intended. The power was good. Manual and remote control of the โejectโ feature was no good. I decided to open up the box and, yet again, the rubber band controlling the โdisc ejectโ had broke. But with this unit, I also noticed that there was some kind of โsticky substanceโ all over the electronics, even in areas where substance shouldnโt be. Poor craftsmanship. My conclusion: For the price you pay, its worth it. Be ready to replace it after about (9) months to (1) year if you use it almost everyday.

Plays multiple regions.
Now able to play the DVDs that I have bought, quite a number (as a result of poor marketing information), that were rejected by my regional DVD player. A big loss has turned into a win with this wonderful DVD player.

I am finding it difficult to find an adaptor plug to plug in the dvd. Many stores in Durban South Africa do not stock the adaptor I still cannot use the DVD.

at the moment we can't plug it in as the plug doesn't fit our sockets. Will have to change cord sometime so we can use it.
