Will this fluid clean or damage steel pinions and arbors?

No I should not effect the steel of the opinions or arbors. Some sites recommend not using this type of substance on early clocks and watches pre 19th Century. I have used this a number of times without any problem. Ivan

I need to clean an old wind up toy train but engine parts that need cleaning cannot be removed from the painted tin exterior. Will this remove paint?

There are so many different paints it would be dificult to say for sure, best to try on an inconspicuous part first, it really does bring a shine to old brass removing tarnish. WD40 is a good cleaner for small clockwork toys.

i have a copper ships deck lantern, will this stuff bring a shine to it

It certainly works on brass as most clock cogs are made from it. You need to dilute the fluid down with water and try it on small pieces to get to the strength you need. Then give it a clean with a wire brush after dipping it in the solution for a period of time and they then come up very sparkling.

It states on the tin to be diluted by 7parts water . But there is nothing to say whether it can be used in a ultrasonic tank. Better to contact the manufacturer.
