So good to avoid arguments.
It works yes it’s soft and you will probably need to replace them every few years. I waited 8 months to post this review after I installed them. They make doors much quieter. My wife gets up to go to the bathroom a lot during the night and refuses to use the door handle, so it makes a lot of noise. It always wakes me up. These have pretty much stopped that. After over 8 months they don’t really show any signs of wear but I ordered more in case they do. They are soft and flexible, so they will not last like brass does. But for the quiet - A+++++. And I’ll keep spending money on them. Great design. Great innovation.

Gimmick, doesn't work.
I dont know what I was really expecting, all this does is push the striker plate out and create less tolerance for the door to close. Its not at all quieter. I missed my return window so into the junk drawer they went.

Definitely depends on the door frame if it will work or not
Okay so I got this as there's been a lot of tensions in my house over doors closing and how loud they are or aren't. So I decided to try. There are two main doors that were a problem, so with a two pack I could test both. One was a bedroom, one was a bathroom. Bedroom door; worked perfectly. It feels like a good fit. I tested various levels of swinging/pulling shut. Had to really work to slam it as a test. And it works. The door even stays closed, can be locked, not pushed open. I read other reviews and we were hoping to maintain privacy. So this one was a win. Bathroom door: this one was less successful. It doesn't line up quite the same way. I tried cutting and trimming, and while the door can close now, it can easily be pushed open. Literally my cat helped herself too the bathroom during my roommates shower. Still, it reduced noise, though less so because of the trimming. Still, I'm debating even getting it for my bedroom door too, just to be safe. I'm not sure if I love the cost, but it is helping I think.

Disregard low reviews
Im sure most people do the same and read the lowest reviews prior to purchasing anything. I do judge people when I do and if someone can't formulate a coherent sentence, or can't spell, I disregard the review. These things work like magic. Yes they are a little bigger than the standard strike plate, but still work without modifications. I tried to make this fail to see what all the 1 star reviews were about. It worked great no matter how much I tried to screw it up. I did cut a bit of most strike plate recesses to make it sit flush, as I'm picky and I have wood chisels. Even if you've never touched a chisel it's easy enough, just grab one for $5 for when you install. Press in a straight line just under 1/8 inch and it will fit perfectly. I replaced all strike plates with these as my kids are door slammers. But they are also great if my wife or I is already sleeping when the other goes to bed. The only thing you hear is the door knob internals. Yes they are ugly, but who's looking anyway? And to be this quiet I really don't care how they look. Function over form. These are well worth the price. As for longevity, time will tell but even if they only last a month, I will keep a stockpile and constantly replace them. The only bad thing is now I have to go find new quieter door knobs as these are older and worn a bit so a little louder. Also I had planned on putting silicon pads in the door to help quiet even more, with this it has a bumper built in. So if you have a modicum of intelligence and can safely use a screwdriver without ending up in the ER, you can install these sleep and sanity savers.

Worked Amazing Until It Broke Within a Week
I was initially thrilled with this door plate. It worked amazingly well in reducing the noise from my bedroom door, which tended to slam shut with a super loud click against the original strike plate. The foam-type material of this plate really dampened the sound; I honestly couldn't believe how well it worked (it was also really easy to install--took me about 2 minutes with just a screwdriver). However, my enthusiasm was short-lived. Within just a week of installation, it unexpectedly broke. It doesn't stay conformed to the door that well, and consistent regular usage of opening/shutting the door made the plate pull out of the screws holding it in. While it did an excellent job while it lasted, the fact that it broke so quickly leaves me with mixed feelings. If the product's longevity were improved, it would be a solid choice for noise reduction.

It's actually impressively effective.
Honestly thought it was crap. Had no idea it was flexible or that it was supposed to REPLACE the actual strike plate. After wathching the install video and following it.. SUPER impressive. Kids will no longer wake me with their 1am trips to the hall bath outside my bedroom.

It's not bad
I wished the product was more rigid and not flexible, for the fear of it might rip off the frame. The noise cancellation was really good tho.

The pool that causes more door slammers to enter my home
I have no photo or any big story other than the fact I was reviewing another item… When… 🤯 That’s when I saw this on my review page and thought “huh I don’t even remember buying those.” Suddenly comes the dawning realization that these things have been working and I didn’t even know it! My husband put these on our doors in our recent new build home unbeknownst to me. Not in a bad way, but whoa. It was the first week of summer… Children everywhere. We have a pool, you see. We also can’t say no and have a soft spot for fellow nurses in need. Our friend needed a place to stay with her daughter for a couple months. Okay. No problem. What’s one more kid. A summer playmate in-house. Swimming and fun and yay summer… … until, in comes a grumpy dad who (deservedly) was going insane from the joyous sounds of summer excitement and sleepovers. Door slamming. The main culprit. He sought a solution. He implemented said solution. I reaped the benefits of a quiet and happy home without realizing that the door slamming was ever even a thing to begin with. Takeaways: 1. These work, even if you didn’t know they were there in the first place. 2. Get you a husband/wife who does not just yell at the children for shutting the door too loudly, but instead quietly solves a problem and maintains the karmic sanity of the home. Sarcasm aside, these suckers work and after 20 years my husband is a doer. Don’t say dreams don’t come true.

If it fits your door, it works like magic
Product is magic. If your door installation matches the requirements, door operation is surprisingly silent.

Not working as expected
Even with heavy modifications it did not work at all. Also prevent locking the door. I wish I returned it instead of cutting it to try to make it fit.

Door now goes "boom" instead of "clank"
Im not sure it makes a difference, it doesn't justify the price. I still purchased two sets... just to show my tenants I cared.
