A little finicky to set up but a necessary accessory for any indoor grinding imo
Might have taken off a bit more of the Makita bits than necessary to get set up, but once set up this works well. Could only get a small vac hose to fit so some extra adapters would be nice. Used with the highest powered 7" Makita grinder while grinding paint from a concrete floor and it worked extremely well. At first I wasn't sure it was doing much as there would occasionally be piles of dust left behind - what I thought was a little debris being left behind was actually nothing compared to the amount of material that the griding disc was removing, and the amount being captured by the shroud/vacuum. To test I unplugged the vacuum hose and tried it and immediately felt like an idiot as it created a dust cloud in the room like someone dropped a cup of flour in front of a powerful fan - in my pic note how little dust you see, and the fact that the image is clear. The weak link in my work was actually the vacuum that kept getting clogged (6hp rigid shop vac). I even attached to one of those dust separating devices to no avail.

Very effective and worth it!
Quick ship. Installed it in a couple minutes on Mt ryobi cordless angle grinder and got to work. Works great. Grinding out the mortar from old tile was a mess that covered everything in the house with dust. Got this and no more dust. Just hooked straight up to my shop vac and all is very good

Excellent product that keeps dust absolutely minimal - 4.5 stars
I am very pleased with this savior of a product. I used it with a Dewalt DWE4011 angle grinder and Dewalt DW4774 diamond cup grinding wheel to grind off primer, excess tile mortar and peaks off a concrete subfloor. The one-touch guard adjustment feature of my angle grinder made the fit not quite perfect - there’s a built-in thing in the way on my grinder, and I had to jerry-rig a cut piece of rubber and 2 hose clamps to attach my vacuum hose, but it made a potentially hazardous job into an almost completely dust-free project. I expected to find a thin layer of dust on things outside my work area but to my surprise there was none. The one time my vacuum hose broke free showed me how much this dust shroud was working as a small cloud of dust was instantly released into the air. I would have bought Dewalt’s much more expensive shroud (more expensive than my grinder) had it had rave reviews, but it had worse reviews. I would highly recommend this Dastool product for use with a thick grinding wheel - it would be too deep for use with standard grinding wheels. An added bonus was keeping the sparks within the dust shroud. But do use a serious fine-particle respirator, goggles, and good gloves - angle grinders are serious tools with crazy high RPMs. The only issue is I wish it didn’t require a metric socket wrench to tighten it. A regular wrench is too bulky and U.S. socket wrench heads don’t work (I tried the 3 sets I had) so I had to use a pair of needle-nosed plyers which somewhat stripped the nut. I’ll get a metric set one of these days. BTW I have no idea what that wrench-looking thing is for, and expect to spend some time with this thing to get it to fit right.

Worked perfectly.
I'm getting ready to put down an aluminum garage door threshold and before I can do that, the garage floor needed to be as flat as possible. I had one small high spot and needed to grind it down. I bought an inexpensive angle grinder, a diamond disc (here on Amazon) and this shroud. I was concerned about it fitting because I bought a Harbor Freight grinder, not a name brand. It fit great with one of the adapters. The tool for tightening the shaft rings is the wrong size so I had to use the one that came with the grinder. The "universal" hose adapter didn't work for me. I have a 30 year old Shop-Vac and the nozzles are the same diameter as the shroud attachment port. I ended up taking a Shop-Vac replacement hose I had, but never needed and cut the attachments off the ends and that hose fit the shroud and my vac nozzle perfectly. I bought this shroud because it came with that adapter. Don't let the adapter be your deciding factor like I did because it's pretty useless. I actually used this shroud today and it worked great! Not a spec of dust escaped from it and that's why it gets 5 stars. That's the main reason for having this, right? The only thing I don't like is you can't see the disc, so you're flying blind under there and I had a specific spot to grind down. Everything worked out okay for me though. I now have a level garage floor AND it's dust free! If all you need is the dust shroud, this is good. It definitely reduces dust.

Works great - as long as you have bailing wire and duct tape.
This tool includes a bunch of adapter collars and one crazy metal ring that's useless - it's twisted and bent. I assume it's some type of collar, but the instructions are basically "read the instructions" and useless. There's a lot to hate about this shroud, but once it's hooked up it works amazingly well. Cuts down the dust by 99%. If you're "handy" and have some common sense, plus a penchant for duct tape and quick-fixes, you can make this work. I have three grinders. An old Craftsman - no way to attach it. An older Dewalt - no way to connect it so it was flat. And an older Bosch. This worked with one of the black collars, but the locking lever would not stay closed. So I used bailing wire to hold the lever in place (see photo.) After the mounting issue was solved the big problem arose - the hose. The included adapter is pretty useless. It's stepped on the outside - but uniform in size on the inside. Impossible to connect to a large vacuum hose or a small one. I wound up using the adapter on a small hose - I had to slice one end so it would go over the hose. The other end fit inside the shroud connector. BUT - it pops out with the slightest tug. So enter the duct tape - a lot of it. This works. In hindsight I could have totally skipped the adapter and just taped the hose to the shroud fitting. Anyway, it's jury-rigged and working great. As for actual use, it takes practice. It's really easy to angle it down and do a deeper, narrow groove. The grinding disc is about 1/4" up from the bottom of the bristles, so you need to press down to grind - this is handy because you can really control the cutting depth. It's just tricky to stay flat. So - again - practice on a really high spot!

Not Compatible with 7” Makita Angle Grinders – Center Hub Too Deep
Pic # 1 These photos show a 7-inch Makita angle grinder with its original guard and a diamond cup wheel for grinding concrete. Also shown on the floor is a new Dastool dust shroud that will be installed on the grinder. This 2nd photo shows the correct depth of the dust shroud where it seats over the grinder’s spindle housing. As shown, the shroud sits flush with the grinder’s mounting surface and does not protrude. This is the correct factory fitment, allowing the grinding wheels to be installed and seated properly. Photo # 3 shows the main issue with this Dastool dust shroud. The center hub of the shroud is manufactured with excessive depth, preventing the grinder’s original mounting flange from properly seating against the spindle. Since the flange cannot reach the correct mounting surface, the diamond cup wheel cannot be installed correctly. The shroud does not sit flush with the grinder, making this product incompatible with my 7-inch Makita angle grinder.

Really good dust guard at a fraction of the cost
This works really well for my DSG415 DeWalt cordless grinder. I had to remove the guard release lever for it to fit. Even though it doesn’t sit all the way down it’s about 80-90% down and after I tighten it down, it’s firmly on there. I hooked it up to my 10G Ridgid shop vac and amazingly no dust escaped. Even when I opened the front of the guard to get close to the edge it barely let any dust out. In my case I noticed that the guard stuck out a little further than the grinding wheel so I needed to push down or tilt the grinder a little to get good contact with the concrete but that’s because my wheel is a little worn down and I should notch out the shroud collar to fit more flush with the grinder - which I’ll eventually do. All that said, this is a fraction of the cost and works really well for my situation.

Fits dewalt DWE4120 with minor modification
Fit my dewalt DWE4120 grinder... with a minor modification. You can not get the guard to fully seat up to the tool body as the clamp ring interferes with raised sections of the tool around the neck. A small cutting wheel on my rotary tool did the trick... I had to remove about half the collar in a few places. Getting it to fully seat was critical to my use of the guard as I was using grit paint removal discs on a deck. Once installed it worked great and captured almost all fine dust from the grinder. Night and day difference using vs not. I used and abused this thing and it still works. I ran 15 grit discs through it on 500 sq ft of decking and it did great. I lost about 1/3rd of the bristles around it in the process through pushing down too hard to try and stretch the grit disc usage but still works and catches fines... some larger debris gets scattered without the bristles but nothing like without it. Great product at a fraction of the price of the oem version.

Pas très facile installer
bof cela peut sauver la mise si on doit vraiment bosser sans poussières et sans eaux, perso j'ai arrêter au bout de 5mn. j'ai préféré poncer avec l'ajout d'eau pour éviter la poussière.
