INTEX 28001 Auto Pool Cleaner - Grey/Black

I purchased this to work with a 20ft round frame pool with a 2100gal/hour sand pump, I've upgraded from a prior 15ft pool where I could whirlpool the debris into the centre and then sweep it into a net, this daily exercise was a pain and with a bigger pool, a bigger pain. We've had it a month. You just lower the cleaner into the pool, attach the hose to the pump water outlet (the sand filter needs to be clean to work well) and the cleaner uses the water outlet pressure to move around the pool and create a slight pressure drop in the unit to gradually pick up the annoying small bits of debris in the pool. It moves backwards and forwards, seemingly missing most of the bits, but after you have left it a few hours on its own, hey presto, it has collected all the bits which can be dumped out of the unit when you pull it out of the pool, leaving the bottom lovely and clean. As we have a pool heater, it has the added advantage that it pipes the warmer water to the bottom of the pool, so getting a more even pool temperature (all these above ground pools normally send the water only to the top). So, it's relatively cheaper than a creepy crawly, it seems to have all the right attachments to work with Intex pools, it moves the water around the pool and looks cute as it changes direction very gradually cleaning the pool for hours on end while I don't have to sweep up. Things to watch out for. It seems to need the bigger pool attachments that come with the 1.5" hoses on 18ft and above pools. It is driven around the pool by pressure, with a filter cartridge pump you probably don't have enough pressure to get it working. Backwash the pool sand before use. It has an extra filter on the pool attachment, that also needs to be cleaned, otherwise it will stop working. Finally, if you have any significant lumps underneath your pool, it can get stuck on them. But so far, it has been a lot better than sweeping up the debris each day, we put it in the pool when not swimming and it has saved me 15 minutes a day of cleaning for a month, so well happy. N.B. Review update. I purchased this for £55 on Amazon, for some reason it's gone up nearly 50% - so check what else is available too.

I was rather nervous of buying this - it seemed too inexpensive to be reliably good - but I set it to work yesterday and it is a truly excellent piece of equipment. It seems sturdily made, and has been scuttling around our 16 foot, round, above-ground pool all night with no problems, leaving the pool floor spotlessly clean. A truly great piece of equipment and one that is very satisfying to use. When I cleaned the unit out, the filter was full of extremely fine particles that had been lifted from the pool floor. The specifications in the instruction book say the pump must have a capacity between 1600 and 3500 gallons per hour. Our pump is at the bottom end of this specification at 1600gph, and it works perfectly. It is easy to set up, use and clean out. It moves surprisingly fast around the pool floor and has never got stuck (I lifted out the pool step-ladder first). Other reviewers have said that the pool floor must have no wrinkles at all and be perfectly smooth. However, our pool has quite a lot of small wrinkles because of the uneven ground underneath, and the device rolls over them with no problem. The only possible downside is that the connecting hose exerts a slight pressure on the movement of the unit so that it does not travel so frequently to the side of the pool opposite the hose connection. But as soon as people go in the pool, the debris is moved around anyway, so it is a very minor problem. In summary, I am delighted. A machine that works extraordinarily well for a reasonable sum of money. Highly recommended.

I would like to believe that this product works very well. However you would need a pump with at least 2000g/hr to make it move smoothly. Should have been stated in the product description. Now i will have to upgrade my pump.

Highly recommend this hoover. Runs around the pool effortly. Only problem is, it sometimes gets stuck on the sides (above ground pool). Apart from that, its great. Does what its supposed to do.

We first purchased one in 2021 and have just purchased another as the wheel has snapped off. This is our fault as we did not pack it away last year and it was left outside in all elements. The pool cleaner is fantastic and our intex pool has been up a month and not having a working pool cleaner has made a huge difference with the amount of debris that is collecting at the bottom of the pool. They remove so much and keep the bottom of the pool leaf free. They really do remove a lot of detritus!

On initial setup this did not really move around the pool. I found that you have to hold the pipework under the surface, lift the machine above the pipe and run the pump to exhaust any air before use. (this step is in the instructions, but I didn't do this at first). The good... Moves around the pool on its own if you have a good enough pump setup. Easy to set up. Covers the entire pool floor, oval 22 by 14 feet above ground pool. Picks up some very small particles. Very easy to clean. The not so good... Due to the way it uses the inlet flow, debris is agitated quite a lot, lifted from the pool floor and not collected. I watched it move over the same debris time and again without actually picking it up. Ran for 12 hours overnight for a few nights, it did not pick up the main debris. Lots of very small bits, but the slightly larger particles were not touched. Lots or debris left behind and pool requires manual cleaning each time. Conclusion... It didn't really do the job that I wanted. Got some of the finer particles, but left so much behind that I still have to do a manual clean. I am returning the item and will look for a hand held nozzle that I can attach to the outlet and use manually. I feel I can do the job much better and more quickly manually.

Having read the reviews, I ordered this hesitantly as I wasn't sure how powerful our sand pump was. We bought it from a company in the Netherlands last year and I couldn't find any specs for the model number online. The next day I managed to find some information on the side of the pump, which said that the maximum flow rate was 1250 gph. As it states that this cleaner will only work with pumps of 1500 gph or more, I cancelled the order. However, it must have been too late, as the cleaner arrived several days later. It sat unopened for a week while we debated returning it, but yesterday we finally decided to give it a go, and boy are we glad we did! Despite the fact that one section of pipe appears to have a leak (which will be reducing the pressure), the cleaner immediately started zooming around the pool, getting absolutely everywhere. We have a round 16 foot metal frame Intex pool, and it would quite happily go round the edges, getting the dirt out of the seams. We put the solar cover on and left it, and when I peered under the cover this morning, the cleaner was still merrily trundling around the pool, and it was spotlessly clean. When we took the cleaner out, it had collected a satisfying amount of dirt, mostly very fine, as I had hoovered the pool yesterday already. The video I have attached isn't the best, but I hope it helps anyone thinking of buying this cleaner. I don't know why we have found that it works so well when we don't have a very powerful pump, when others have had disappointing results with more powerful filters. Perhaps the very even base under our pool helps (we made a base with large sheets of very thick styrofoam taped together). This very even, level base may be the reason that the cleaner has performed so well. But whatever the reason, for the price we are really impressed, and I am looking forward to actually ENJOYING my pool without spending so much time cleaning it! We have also installed an Intex skimmer this week, which I can't recommend highly enough, and can be run at the same time as the cleaner, as the skimmer attaches to the inlet, and the cleaner attaches to the outlet. For less than £100, we now have a complete cleaning system that can be used while I relax with a glass of wine :)

Used in Bestway 12ft Steel Pro Max deluxe but with Intex 2100gph sand filter and pump. My Bestway pool uses 1.25 inch hoses so when upgrading to Intex pump I needed a bit of clumsy arrangement to get the required 1.5 inch hoses for the pump to the inlet and outlet of the pool. Used Bestway adaptors and Intex shut off valves (not entirely necessary) but as can be seen in pic 1, not very efficient for fluid dynamics. With this arrangement, the cleaner is slow and is easily stopped by friction with pool sides. But to be fair to manufacturers and suppliers they are pretty clear on flow rate requirements. To by-pass issue I connected directly to pump outlet with a spare 1.5 inch hose (which attaches perfectly) rather than to water side of pool inlet (pic 2). Not pretty but (if I can get video to upload) look at the speed of the little geezer. Swapping hoses back takes all of 30 secs (now those shut off valves make sense). I use at least weekly and leave on for a 3 hour pump cycle. Pool floor is spotless and lots of debris in cleaner mesh filter and collector. So much better than trying to"hoover" the floor manually with the sucker hose style thing that connected to pool outlet. Not that cheap but I have scored high on value as it saves me several hours over a season. Still not quite sure how it sucks up dirt given that the water is blowing but I'm sure someone clever can explain (Venturi effect maybe?). Wer kennt es nicht - das lästige saugen des Pools. Vor allem wenn kein Dach drüber ist. Habe lang rum überlegt ob ich mir das Teil anschaffen soll. Vor allem, weil er ja das Wasser rausdrückt anstatt es anzusaugen. Kommt einem im ersten Moment ziemlich unverständlich vor. Wenn man aber mal den Filter im Gerät reinigt, dann versteht man das Prinzip sofort. Aber der Reihe nach. Mein Pool ist Rund und hat 6,4 Meter Durchmesser. Ich habe 2 Wasserausströmer, die einzeln durch ein Kugelventil geregelt werden können. Das Gerät kam pünktlich und ließ sich problemlos und einfach zusammen bauen. Aber es mußte erstmal wieder in die Schachtel, da es Anfang Februar war und schneite :-( Habe den Pool nun vor 2 Wochen in Betrieb genommen. Er war über den Winter mit einer Folie abgedeckt. Aber es war doch erheblich Schmutz am Boden. Nun habe ich eine selbstgebaute Filteranlage. Als erstes brauchte ich einen Adapter für den Ausströmer. Kein Problem. Dann den Filter in Betrieb genommen und ab ins Wasser mit unserem "Aquacrowly". So haben wir unser neues Poolmitglied getauft. Am Anfang hatte ich die Ventile für beide Ausströmer voll geöffnet. Der Aquacrowly ging ab wie eine Rakete und stieg im Wasser nach oben. Ich habe dann das Ventil, daß ihn mit Druckwasser versorgt langsam zurückgedreht bis er gut über den Beckenboden gefahren ist. Dann der erste Schreck. Das ganze Wasser wurde aufgewirbelt. Ich hatte alle Kalkablagerungen der Überwinterung als Schwebeteilchen in der nun deutlich trüben "Suppe". Der Aquacrowly fuhr hin und her und kreuz und quer durch den Pool. Sichtbare Blätter und anderen Dreck verteilte er nur schön gleichmäßig im Pool. Ich war erstmal ratlos. Dann beobachtete ich, wie die aufgewirbelten Schmutzteilchen vom Skimmer gierig eingesogen wurden. Na gut dachte ich, dann bläßt er halt alles solange im Kreis, bis alles oben und weg ist. Ich hab ihn dann erstmal 3 Stunden arbeiten lassen und immer wieder geschaut. Nachdem ich nun 40m³ Wasser da drin hab, hatte sich halt nach 3h nicht viel getan und die Blätter am Boden lagen immer wieder an anderen Stellen. Es kam mittelstarker Frust auf. So nach 4,5 - 5h stellte ich langsam eine weniger starke Wassertrübung fast. Ich legte ein Säckchen Antiflock in den Skimmer, denn der Riesenvorteil ist, daß der Aquacrowly das gefilterte Wasser quer durch das Becken verteilt. nach ca. 6h sah es schon nach einem kleinen Reinigungsfortschritt aus und ich mußte auch den Skimmer von dem hochgewirbelten Dreck befreien. Jedoch blieben noch etliche Blätter weiter am Boden verteilt und wurden nur immer wieder rumgeblasen. Es war jetzt fast dunkel und ich hab das ganze über Nacht abgeschalten. Am nächsten morgen ging es dann weiter. So gegen Mittag war ich dann sprachlos. Ich hatte meinen Beckenboden (Folie) noch nie so sauber und tiefblau hinbekommen. Dazu muß ich sagen, daß im morgen noch die vorgeschriebene Menge Algizid ins Wasser gegeben habe. Aber - ja aber, es waren immer noch vereinzelt Blätter am Boden. Ich ließ den Aquacrowly dann noch den ganzen Tag laufen. Am Abend hatte ich ein perfekt sauberes, kristallklares Wasser mit einem Reinheitsgrad des Bodens, den ich so nicht kannte. Und das Ganze ohne einen Finger zu rühren. Kein stundenlanges und mühevolles Absaugen per Hand!!! Seitdem laß ich den Aquacrowly alle 2 Tage für 2 h laufen und erhalte damit meinen Reinheitsgrad. Hierzu müßt ihr aber wissen, daß ich einen Cabriodome als Dauerabdeckung habe und somit kein weiterer Dreck reinfällt. Wer das nicht hat, der muß sowiese wesentlich länger die Filteranlage laufen lassen. Aber dann kann der Aquacrowly ja problemlos mitlaufen und den Pool sauber halten. Ich hätte mir nie gedacht, daß das System so gut funktioniert. Zudem muß man erforderliche Chemikalien nicht mehr umständlich am Beckenrand verteilen. Ab in den Skimmer damit und der Aquacrowly verteilt es bestens im ganzen Pool. Also ich bin 100% überzeugt. Vor allem weil mein Boden um so vieles blauer und sauberer geworden ist. Nur beim rausnehmen aus dem Wasser solltet ihr das Gerät waagrecht halten und schnell rausnehmen, damit aus dem Schmutzauffangsystem im Gerät nix ins Wasser zurück fällt. Hier war ich übrigens auch erstaunt, wie viel Schmutz und Blätter er direkt auffängt. Das in sich drehbare Schlauchsystem verhindert ein Verwickeln. Und unbedingt ein Regelventil vor den Ausströmer bauen um den Aquacrowly kontrollieren zu können. Fazit: - saugünstig - kein zusätzlicher Stromverbrauch - sehr überzeugende Reinigungsleistung - super einfach Hand zu haben - perfekte Wasserumwälzung - am Anfang braucht man ein paar Stunden Geduld Mein perfekter Poolboy zum (fast) Nulltarif

Snabb leverans. Billig. Bra packeterat. Allt som står i annons, om varan stämmer. Poolen har ännu ej kommit upp men när så kommer denna verkligen vara till nytta. Den gör sitt jobb & har man ett litet veck i poolen så behöver man ej oroa sig för det för förr el senare så kommer den över det & tar upp det mesta :)

Heb deze stofzuiger nu het vierde jaar in gebruik. Kan, itt de beschrijving, ook voor ingebouwde zwembaden worden gebruikt zolang er een 38mm aansluiting is voor wateraanvoer. Bij een intexopzetzwembad is dit gewoon de watertoevoer naar het bad. Omdat de witte slang begon te lekken (de chloorgenerator leidt tot snellere veroudering van het PVC) en de rubber wieltjes begonnen te slijten heb ik een nieuwe besteld. Op de video dus de oude, met een vervangend stuk blauwe slang (die echter snel krult) . Ons Intex bad op de video werkt al 4 jaar, zout water, chloor-ionisator, en warmtepomp. In de winter laten we het water er in, bevriest tot een grote klomp. PS dan geen afdekzeil gebruiken van Intex maar antiworteldoek, dit loopt niet vol met water.....

messo in funzione subito e va alla grande. pulisce bene il fondo. è vero come dicono altre recensioni che un po' solleva lo sporco ma è anche vero che lo stesso poi si ri-deposita e viene comunque pulito alla fine. l'ho lasciato andare parecchie ore ed ha fatto egregiamente il suo lavoro per quello che costa poi... l'ho fatto funzionare con la pompa-filtro sia in modalità riciclo sia in modalità filtratura e non ho riscontrato perdite di potenza ASSISTENZA DI ROTEX-ITALIA ECCEZIONALE: cortesi, disponibili e competenti GRAZIE !!! :-) AGGIORNAMENTO del 11 giugno 2018 Dopo un po' di uso avevo notato che come caldamente suggerito dalle istruzioni la pompa va tenuta in modalità ricircolo perchè il filtraggio a sabbia "ruba" talmente tanta pressione che il robottino non riesce a muoversi, infetti si muove lentamente per un po' e poi si ferma in un angolo... Sono appena passato dalla sabbia a questo prodotto https://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B072172LH8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 e sono soddisfattissimo perchè oltre a filtrare veramente bene e velocemente la pressione dell'acqua in uscita dal filtro è veramente molto più alta come promesso dalle descrizioni del produttore. Il risultato è che riesco a far andare il robottino per la pulizia del fondo contemporaneamente al filtraggio dell'acqua !!! Ora la "configurazione" è la seguente: - prendo l'acqua dallo skimmer e puliusco la superficie - la pompa/filtro filtra l'acqua - il robottino pulisce il fondo. Un'ultima cosa, io ho preso questo "acqualoon" ed avevo qualche dubbio sulla quantità delle palline che anche quando mi sono arrivate mi sembravano insufficienti a sostituire i 25 kg di sabbia, invece sono perfette come promesso ed arrivano al livello al quale arrivava la sabbia.
