Are these sandals waterproof?

You can wear in them into water and they do survive but they are not water shoes. The webbing gets wet and does not dry instantly. I would not wear them into the ocean. I have worn them into very muddy terrain and then hosed them off, but some dirt will stay in the web. My original Tevas are over 10 years old and have been in water or wet terrain scores of times, I just don't wear them to swim in. I would kayak in them, because they'd survive a roll and would not weigh me down if I have to swim. Hope this helps.
