This is a very nice and sturdy Food Saver which really works, sucking the air and sealing nicely. I had to return a couple of other Food Saver machines before this one as they were sealing before all the air was sucked out, one definitely had a issue as in it was not working as designed. Anyway, I am hoping this one lasts as long as the Food Saver before this one which I am having to replace, that one kept going for about 8 or 9 years until the closure knob on the side broke. I still like that way of closure though as opposed to pushing down on both sides of the machine. Lastly, I love the option to MOISTURE seal and DRY seal. I did not have that on my last machine and the Moisture option does work nicely for foods like chicken thighs, etc. Anyway, AIRTIGHT!

This is the way to go for a food sealer. I bought this one for my daughter. The one I have is over 10 years old and is used several times a week. Never let me down. Very easy to use. And its slim size makes it easy to store anywhere.

Just received unit and sealed up some thick steaks for the freezer. BUT, initial showstopping problem was getting the lid to close enough that the function lever would move to the OPERATE position. I was pressing down on the lid crazy hard, but no success. This issue isn't covered in the included booklet, and AI wasn't helpful. But once I got the seals sorted out (below), using the unit is easy, automatic and fast. 4/5 rating is given because of the issue, but would have gone to 0/5 had I needed to send it back. The vacuum pump is rather noisy... not something you'd want to use when people are sleeping in the house, but it only runs a short time when sealing.Online videos suggested the foam rubber seals (that clamp the bags) were causing the problem, so that's what I focused on. These gasket seals pull out easily, and I discovered there was a definite "muffin top" around the top edge of the seals which I figured were preventing them from pushing down into their channel. SO, I flipped them over to push the muffin edge into the channel, leaving a smooth edge facing up. That worked... with some pressure I could get the lid closed enough to get the lever into the OPERATE position. I'm pressing the lid harder than I'd like, and hoping this pressure will go down in time. It's possible to purchase new gasket seals, but that seems silly for a factory-new unit. My feedback to the factory might be to leave the seals out for the buyer to install, so the seals don't develop this muffin-top failure mode. I was very close to sending the unit back, and suspect I'd have the same problem with another unit.I bought a box of the quart bags, and suspect those will be primarily what I'm using. The unit comes with a roll of wide-bag material that fits inside the unit, which must be sealed on both ends but offers much larger storage volumes.

This is my second food saver in 10 years!!!! bought the amazon basics version; the other day for emergency.... OMG... Impossible to return because it does NOT WORK. Don't get the knock offs. .... cost me $35 and returning it is a friggen nightmare to return. First Foodsaver lasted me for almost ten years and worked like a beast.!!!! ((I freeze A LOT). This one performed well on day one.... let's see how it will keep performing... hopefully like the second one performs like a Beast like the first one,,

The FoodSaver is fabulous! It was incredibly easy to set up and use. From the moment I opened the box, I had it assembled and was vacuum sealing food within 30 minutes. It’s intuitive, efficient, and exactly what I was hoping for. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a simple, reliable vacuum sealer.

This is literally going to change my life. So easy to use and I now have a new hobby…vacuum packing Everything. 😂😉

Had the same model for 14 years. Bought a different brand it didn’t vac or seal anywhere near the Food Saver. Found the same model if FS which has a few upgrades and bought it. Back in business it vaca string and seals it well. Great buy and it is so reliable and keeps food from freezer burn.
