Essential kit for open water swimmers
Yes, everyone should have one - and use it consistently. The bright colour alerts boat users to you being in the water; you can safely store your valuables (car keys, mobile) and take them with you on your swim; and although they can't claim it's a life saver, it surely will help prevent you drowning: if you get a cramp, you can rest on the float and pull your leg straight, or just take a rest. This particular float with its 20 litre capacity can take eg. a pair of flipflops and some food, if you're planning to do a long swim and want to feel reassured that you can always get out of the water and walk home if the swim is too much for you. Go for it!

Swim secure dry bag
It’s a good bit of kit for open water swimming, but 4 star only because on occasion mine has deflated a bit after about 20mins swimming, and only the one valve seems to work when Inflating/deflating the bag (despite exchanging for a new one) Would still recommend.

Excellent float but…
If I was buying again I would buy the one which can accommodate a phone on the outside. It will keep everything dry but then things are not accessible when in the water
