Josef Koudelka: Exiles

Koudelka’s photography is sublime. This book along with another of his books Gypsies are two of my favourite photo books of all time. Stunning images. Buy it and enjoy it if you are into photography.

One of the great photobooks in history

Koudelka is one of the best photographers around. Exiles is no exception - excellent!

Che dire... Un capolavoro. L'essenza della fotografia di Koudelka, esule tra gli esuli, vagabondo in un mondo senza redenzione. "Exiles" è un diario di erranza e di vita, poetico e a tratti inquietante, testimone di un mondo ovattato in cui i protagonisti sono ombre senza meta, quasi condannati alla ricerca di una perfezione compositiva da offrire al fotografo. Bellissimo e struggente, lascia un senso di vuoto e desolazione ma nel contempo di speranza: un mondo in macerie ma con una sua profonda e atavica estetica, come se ci fosse una necessità cosmica di ordine e purezza d'immagine che governa il tutto, e che in un certo qual modo ci sussurra che c'è un senso in questa vita.

Belle facture reproduction d’un bon niveau, très agréable niveau format. Le papier est aussi très bon. Les noirs sont profonds c’est indispensable le concernant.

Obra maestra

Book was shipped from Belgium. It required 2 weeks to arrive to southern Ontario, Canada - which is fairly fast. It was well packed (arrived in perfect condition) and the book itself, was shrink wrapped. This is a nice touch since it prevents abrasion marks on the dust jacket from the shipping box. The paper is heavy weight, coated stock. Koudelka photos are very well reproduced.
