Quicken Purchasing issues buyer beware.
Installation was terrible. Support hours are not listed on the support page. Had to look up the support hours on the internet. Purchasing notes listed do not note anything about being a previous user, may result in purchasing the incorrect software. This places a burden on Amazon which should not be the case. There should be notes noted at the time of purchase if you are a previous user, please review your choices as if you were a previous user with an expired account the account is still listed as a current user and not a new user, which causes issues with the installation process. My account was already closed and expired for 6 months. They do not offer any further discounts as you are still listed as a user of the product even though you are not.

New subscriber? Steer clear and keep looking...
I have used Quicken since version 5 for DOS, with over 35 years of financial records in my data file. Q5 and QW-2001 were fantastic. Over the years it has declined, though was better than MS Money, Gnucash, MoneyDance. Each release gets new bugs: It loses focus when you switch out to a bank window and come back; it sows flags indicating transactions to review, then shows you 0 transactions to review. But it was good enough to be worth the $60 every few years to maintain 20, 23, 26, ... years of financial data. Now, subscriptions are $100+ every year - this New Subscriber code won't work as a renewal - you'll have to create a new Quicken ID. And it gets buggier and buggier. Steer clear!

Not kept up with modern times? I wouldn't say that. There's no real competition.
Just to counter what another reviewer said about Quicken not keeping up. I don't agree with that statement. Since the ownership change a few years ago, Quicken has done an excellent job in modernizing the transaction downloads, and bank connections in general. Although the reports such as gain/loss, and ROI figures, sometimes don't seem to be as accurate as I think they should be, most of the problems people come across are a result of not understanding fully how investments work and reported (including me, admittedly). I mean if you ask 5 people how to calculate annual yield, or return on Investment, you'd probably get 5 different answers. I've been using this for about 25 years now. I'm able to track all of my investments daily. I'm also able to track credit card purchases and payments every day. Each day as the transactions are downloaded, I categorize everything. it only takes a second, and I can go back any time in the last 25 years if I want and look for just about anything. I like being able to track and watch my net worth climb every year. And watching my money grow daily, I'm a little less likely to spend frivolously. I'm also able to keep track of my assets and their values. There is no doubt Quicken is partly responsible for my success at managing money. Is it perfect? No. Absolutely not. There are occasional issues such as investment transaction downloading errors that make little sense, and recently there have been transactions that were duplicated. Direct help with Quicken Support is difficult, but answers can be found in the Community with some work. Research there can be time consuming. So I recommend to check your accounts at least once a month to make sure the accounts in Quicken balance to the online investments. It can save you a lot of time later if you catch downloading errors early. I don't use the check-writing feature, because in today's world of automatic payments and online bill pay it just isn't necessary. I use my bank's free bill-pay service and direct pay instead, as it is convenient for me. So, I can't say whether or not that part of Quicken Premier has any real value, or at least not what it used to have. All that said, I really do hate their new subscription model. Like dealing with Xfinity, and some other greedy corporation pricing structures that know you don't really have a lot of choices and that you're probably willing to pay what you need to pay in order to get the service, they aren't shy about raising prices. It's annoying, and it's easy to get mad and say you'll never go back as I often do, but as important as this software is to me, I always come back. Overall it's a great tool to keep track of your finances. I just wish they'd stop the annoying price gouging increases!

Previous subscribers beware.
For previous customers, beware that quicken changed the rules this year. It used to be you could get this software for new subscribers only, and still use the code to extend your previous subscription for an additional year. Now it does not let you. And the software is not returnable. For those of you who are new subscribers, just beware that when you go to renew, itโs about an average of $10 a month, which is a whole lot for something so basic. This software used to be so much cheaper. It works well, Iโve used it for over two decades, but Iโm seriously considering other options now that they have gotten greedy.

Price was Right
I have been a long-time Quicken user, probably going back to the 80s. However, after Intuit decided to go to a subscription-based model, like so many others, the key is to buy it as cheaply as possible. in this case the price was right. Obviously I like the product since I continue to use it.

Doesn't work
I was a Quicken user before switching to Mint and then they killed Mint. Went back to Quicken and this version isn't remotely similar to what I recall using. The program is unusable. Nothing is accurate when downloading transactions. It can't even get my checking account correct. So now I use Rocket and it is back to being easy. Possibly some of my angst is due to user error on my part, but in me experience with several budgeting/financial tracking software, this version of Quicken is the worst. Purchase at your own risk.

It REALLY is ONLY for NEW SUBSCRIBERS
Only works for new subscribers. I've been using Quicken for 20+ years and have never had a problem purchasing latest version, even the "for new subscribers" subscription version and had no problem using it. Not this year. When I went to activate it it said that it was only for new subscribers. Luckily I was within 30 days and it sent me to a page to request a refund. Sure, it was as advertised, but after around 25 years it may finally be time to move on. I may give it one more year. Quicken is making it harder and harder to stick with them. I've been a loyal user but the time is finally running out. I certainly haven't recommended it to my kids -- I've told them to go with one of the easier-to-use online applications.

Simply the best money management software, even with all its quirks
Been using Quicken for close to 30 years (from DOS days). Continue to use it to this day. The software works well, and integration is not match with anyone else. Yes, lots of quirks and it's now a subscription service. However, if you use it daily (with I mostly do), then the pricing is not too outrageous. I've looked for other options, but nothing has the level of functionality.
