how do you tighten the cap for the hose?

My just turned and tightened but the whole thing is very cheap/ poor quality .

From end of hose to end of spray tip, 55cm. Metal part on its own, 35cm.

Mine leaked at very nearly every connection but I just took them all apart and re connected and it was fine . Worked fine since.
