Leaf twig is highly recommended for beginners
I've been using cartridge razors for years, but I've always wanted to try wet shaving, something to make shaving feel less like a chore. After some research, the Leaf Twig became my first safety razor. The Twig is incredibly easy to use. If you're used to cartridge razors, the learning curve is minimal. Thanks to its mild head design, it's very forgiving and reduces the risk of nicks or cuts, even when shaving from different angles. The small head also makes it easy to shave under the nose. DE blades are super affordable, and using half a blade makes it even more economical. That said, the included blades felt a bit dull to me. If you're using the Thorn, which is a bit more aggressive, this might not be an issue, but you can always swap in sharper blades of your choice. Highly recommended, especially for beginners. If you're more experienced, the Thorn might suit you better.

Thorn: 5-star razor, 5-star value
I have tested a ton of razors, and the Thorn is hands-down my favorite for many reasons. This kit is also a great value with accessories that are actually worth the extra $20 you pay over the standalone razor. The Leaf and Supply razors were constantly popping up in my social media feeds, and I decided to give the Supply a try. Great customer service, but it didn't impress me. I bought a Leaf (the razor with the 1, 2, or 3 blade option) and found it was great but impossible to get under my nose. I then bought a Twig and found it to be surprisingly pleasant, but a bit too mild for daily use. Then I tried the Thorn. WOW! Though the Thorn only has .2mm more blade exposure, that makes a big difference. I would compare this to Level 4 on my Gillette adjustables. A nice medium shave that doesn't leave my skin cut or irritated. I would compare this to the type of shave I was comfortable with for years on my disposable Gillette Fusions. For anyone just getting into the safety razor world, you need to understand that this type of razor doesn't require the near-scrubbing pressure you need with a disposable. You use virtually no pressure and just let the razor do the work as you gently glide it across your skin. Avoid going against the grain until you have mastered the technique. Though you can save $20 and get the standalone razor, I highly recommend this Twig or Thorn kit because you're getting an extra 50 blades, a matching stand and a blade disposal tin. I rarely give five-star reviews, but this Thorn set is worthy. Two enthusiastic thumbs up from me.

Definitely beats my 3 blade Leaf razor
I love it! Usually I don’t write reviews unless I really love something or have an issue with it, but this deserves it. So far I’ve only used it 3 times, the first one was apparently a common situation for most people when switching to a DE razor. I got some cuts and sliced up my chin quite bad. I was at the point of regretting my decision and considering getting a Henson razor instead which was my other top choice, but looked up many training videos on YouTube and checked with AI. Eventually I decided to stick with it. My second shave was much better and only one smaller cut. Main thing I needed to do was be very careful with my pressure on my face with the razor. On turn third shave it was such a close BBS shave without a single cut or irritation. So happy I stuck with it! Currently, I’m using the Leaf blades, but I’m looking forward for trying different recommended ones with it too. My main razor before was the 3 blade Leaf, it was good enough, but sometimes caused cuts and didn’t get very close. Apparently it’s mainly for body shaves, not really meant for the face. Happy I finally got the Thorn, at first I didn’t think a single blade razor could compare to a three blade because I came from cartridge razors, but I was wrong. It’s much better.

Initial thoughts: idiot proof
I’ve been eyeing the leaf thorn razor for awhile now. I tried wet shaving and never dialed it in, then went back to cartridges. I took the thorn to some long stubble and it handled it with ease. As I was trying to find the proper technique with this razor, only once did I make a pass thinking “oh that’s gonna cut” yet I never actually knicked. I did 2-3 full passes on my face and neck and did not see much irritation. I ended with a couple spots that needed me to go over with my cartridge razor. But for a first try with no real idea what to expect I think it went well. I’m curious to see how this does the next time when my stubble is shorter

5 o'clock shadow at best. Good quality though.
Build quality and presentation are great! The quality of the shave is sub par. No matter how good you get at it, and yes you have to get used to it compared to modern razors, it doesn't shave close enough to give a clean shave; you'll have five o'clock shadow at best, which could be considered a feature for those that don't like baby face. I know Gillette make the sharpest thinnest razors so I may buy some refills from them to try and see if i have a better experience.

Perfection
I honestly understand the hype now. This product is extremely easy to use, it’s angled perfectly to decrease cuts, and it’s perfectly weighted so you wouldn’t need to apply much pressure. It comes with a stand, which is great for aesthetics, and a razor disposal bin, which is important to have in order to protect against potential injury. It also comes with a lot of razors that are pretty decent too. Overall, I can’t be happier with this purchase.

Cuts sensitive skin BAD
The worst shave of my life. I used it maybe six times and each had between 2-10 cuts. Do NOT buy for sensitive skin. I used the oil and high end shaving cream. The stand is too small for the razor and shakes if you hit the table or if you don’t put it down fully it wobbles. Do not buy.
