This kind of technology should be illegal for us lesser mortals
Typically, to have something like this costs thousands of $$$ but somehow Racebox managed to squeeze an incredible amount of tech into a small, very affordable device that's about the size of a JBL clip speaker (3x3x1 inches roughly). It has extremely accurate GPS (down to about a foot) and an accelerometer that updates much more than the usual once per second that pretty much any phone or camera like a gopro or insta360 captures, which means clean telemetry data for all your track day videos that nobody watches but your mom. It has a good battery which should last a whole day at the track and hours worth of space for recording. The app works very well and is fairly easy to use. It has hundreds if not thousands of tracks and layouts pre-programmed in the unit and it somehow also records weather conditions and timestamps on all your recordings. I could write a review 10x as long on all of its features but just do yourself a favor and buy one already. Lastly, for motorcycles they recommend placement on the tail but this was where I mount my insta360 sometimes, I instead placed it on the fuel tank under my chest when tucked. I thought this might impede the gps reception but it had zero effect. The device was getting down to 1 meter accuracy inside my house! So if you're outside, expect it to be around 10-12 inches regardless of placement. (For comparison, most phones barely get within 15ft, but can at times be hundreds of feet inaccurate).

Great Portable GPS Lap Timer
I love the RaceBox Mini on my track bike! When a transponder is not available at the track this little gem provides all that I need. It's easy to transfer between bikes (or cars), stays where you put it, and only requires a phone. It took a couple of times contacting customer service to get it to work for me without carrying my phone with me, but customer service was fantastic and provided me with videos to surmount my problems. The device recognizes every track I have been to including Kart tracks and is very accurate when compared to a high quality transponder. I have charged the device after every track day and was surprised to learn that I could probably do three track days in a row without charging. The price is right for what you get and it's wonderful not to have to connect any cables to my bike (or car)! If you need a readout while riding/driving, this device is not for you.

Great cost/benefit, great app, awesome features!
Just got the mini S last week and used it on the track yesterday. I got lucky as Racebox has just rolled out the video overlay feature for all users! I cant express how great this is, as I won't need to buy or use another app to add overlay to my data/video. You can record data in 2 ways, live on the phone or in "standalone" mode. Only issue with live on the phone is, if you turn phone screen off it stops recording. It is meant to record while you use phone as display for the gps. Standalone records with phone off (after you start it on the phone). For overlays it lets you add videos from external cameras (in my case it was video from Akaso Brave 4). It even lets you join those videos if the camera saved in more than 1 file. The trick is to then go into the lap time and adjust the video to sync perfectly. Not super intuitive but it works...

Effective track data recorder
The threaded mount allows for mounting options using suction cups mounts instead of sticking to the dash with velcro. Not sure I trust the magnets to strong enough on the exterior. App is pretty simple but works well enough. I especially like the ability to compare between different laps. The video that it captures is not so ideal though, as it seems to be limited to 720p 60 fps when my phone can do 4K 60 fps. The overlay of the data on the video is great. I wish I could also have my brake and throttle recorded too but that would need an OBD connection. I didn't try the standalone recording but perhaps that would be better since I use my phone to record video and you can't record a session with the Racebox app minimized. One disappointing thing is how slow it is to lock onto your position, even in direct view of the sky and on a clear day. Make sure your app is running and has your position before you start your session.

I love this device!! Perfect for track days.
I used my Race Box S for the first time at NJMP Lightning this weekend at it was exactly what I was looking for the track my progress and see where I can improve my times. The app was great, had no problem find the correct track and everything else was automatically recorded. I kept the phone stored away and after the session I could immediately review my data, compare other laps from that session or even other session or days. This unit is so small and light it fits easy on any dash, the Velcro is almost too strong and holds a charge for the entire weekend. It connects to Bluetooth in seconds. Try this first before spending a lot more on other devices.

No support from Racebox if it has an issue
This thing is awesome!!! Right up until it quits working. If you buy it off Amazon, you wont get customer support from Racebox, so definitely don’t buy it off Amazon - or maybe just get a better lap timer to begin with.

Great but…
My sons race motocross and we needed something to show them where they were losing time on each lap. I got this for them for Christmas and it worked great for practice! But, it fell off the bike and was lost on the first race! There is no way to really secure it to the bike. We had Velcro and zip ties but those are no match for racing! The other issues is the device automatically turns off after 15 minutes of inactivity so there was no way to track it once we were able to walk the track (20 races later). Now, to replace it…the price is double on Amazon!!

Awesome little unit.
Exactly as described, the only complaint I have is the way it was boxed. A small expensive electronic device in a box that would hold 10 of them with no packaging material. I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet but I have a friend who uses one for autocross, I like it a lot and that's the reason I bought mine. I know they are good.

Superb piece of kit
Very very impressed with this. Very easy to use, very accurate and very intuitive. The app is brilliant, all the information you could want. The app is better to use than a friend’s aim solo, if you’re thinking about buying one, just have a few whiskies like I did and buy one!

Great experience out of the box!
What can I say, a really great product. Bundled it with the makadamo quadlock holder system (phone with quadlock case and the RaceBox mini s) for a seamless experience. Have it working with both the out of the box RaceBox software as well as the RaceChrono Pro app. Everything just works. Hazzlefree!
