Probably not as they are very difficult to mold to your ear to get the seal you'd need. Buy a noise machine to drown them out, switch roommates or pay for them to go to a dr to figure out what their problem is....btw they are not getting proper sleep if they snore that badly and would personally benefit from getting help. Good luck!

Suitable / comfortable for sleep ?

I've had custom molded ear plugs. Comfortable enough to wear all day but not for sleeping if you are a side sleeper; sleeping this way will put pressure on that side's ear and you will feel the plug.

Are they better at blocking noise than foam earplugs?

100% better. These actually are too quiet in some circumstances. They work really well.
