Rod works great. Easy to assemble and use. Caught dozens of catfish over 3 days without a problem. Kids (11) and adults used it. The little suitcase it comes in is cool; I felt like Clive Owen in the Bourne Identity when I was assembling the rod. But instead of trying to kill Jason Bourne, I was succeeding in catching catfish. The handle came off (user error) and fell in the river. I went to a fancy tackle shop near the river to ask about a replacement, and was sneered at for buying a Chinese fishing rod on Amazon (to be fair, everything about me exudes "city slicker" so the sneering was probably as much that as anything). No replacement was offered. When we got back, I contacted the seller and they replaced it without charge in fewer than 5 days. Amazing customer service.

Bought this pair to throw in the back of the car for unplanned excursions. I've owned a dozen rods and reels in my life including some high end baitcasters and the quality of this combo is very good. Comes with some strong braided line and a decent little box of tackle. The one thing I wish was different is the case is designed to hold it completely disassembled. If the foam molding fit around a fully assembled rod it would be much more useful. I'm probably going to cut some of the foam out to make a spot for it to fit still assembled so I can store it ready to roll.

The pole kinda sucked, very flimsy and the top guide eye popped out, so I replaced it with a smaller sturdier pole, but other than that, the whole reel setup and extra spool were fantastic, the case was also pretty good, and the small box of lures was good, I keep it in the car for those random after work fishing days

The rod holds up well and doesn't jam easy when collapsing. The reel also is great, and is pretty smooth. Overall it is a great a rod and reel and for the price it is defiantly worth it.

The Sougayilang Fishing Rod & Reel Combo is a surprisingly good setup, especially for the price. The rod itself is really whippy, which makes it super easy to cast far without putting in a ton of effort. The baits it comes with are actually good quality—definitely not the cheap stuff you sometimes get with combo kits. The included line is solid too, so you can take this out of the bag and start fishing right away. My only real complaint is one of the clamps that locks the reel into place tends to get loose. It doesn’t affect casting or performance, but it does get a little annoying having to tighten it every now and then. Overall, it’s a great portable setup for both freshwater and saltwater fishing, especially if you want something reliable for travel.

Bought two of these poles for my grandchildren for Christmas. The whole idea was that they were transportable and came with a very nice carrying case. We could use them whenever and wherever. Well they came to visit us at shore this past summer and they brought their poles and we put them together. I was very pleased with the assembly process and the quality of the reel. Well it turned out to be a very windy week and we never were able to go fishing over by the bay. Well now the problem…..we cannot take the poles apart no matter how hard we try and other family members have even tried. We tried so hard that we broke one of the eyes and still no luck. Both rods were impossible to break down. We tried every idea on the internet including Sougayilangs suggestion which was also on the internet. I suppose other people have had the same problem with their poles. Nothing but nothing will break these poles down. The worst part of this whole deal is the company that supposed to have such great customer service has never ever returned one of my emails and there have been several and a phone number is impossible to find. I might add that these poles have never even touched water they are new never used. If you are thinking about purchasing fishing poles I would think twice about buying Sougayilang. There is no customer service regardless of what they say. I am one very very disappointed customer.

Very nice packaging nice case feels good to the hand everything feels like it’s well built and made of high quality materials it’s my first fishing rod and reel and I am very happy with it I can’t wait to catch some fishes with it, and it’s worth the price I think it’s a very reasonable deal!!!!

I bought this fishing rod for my son as his first set, and they’ve been perfect. Setup is quite easy, and the rod is simple to use for a beginner to intermediate fishermen. The carrying case is lightweight and durable, making transporting easy. The telescopic design is especially convenient, it stores compactly and fits easily in the car. A great choice for anyone just getting into fishing.

I am waiting for my reel and rod ... am afraid now after last reviews read .. I will report when I get it.. praying for it will be good ..

The rod appears to be well-built and the guides are true and very smooth. I was impressed with the small tip guard that came with it - totally reusable! I won't have to worry about breaking the tip while portaging. I found the rod a little stiff but I usually use a light medium action rod. The reel is exceptionally smooth, light in weight, and has a no-reverse feature. It spooled 80 yards of 10 lb test monofilament quickly and easily and the bail worked quite smoothly. So far so good. I'll update once I have fished with it.
