Get ready for small towns stirred by mystery and desire in The Eden series, heart-pumping fifth story . . . Lyla Eden has spent the last few years sitting on the sidelines, watching her siblings fall in love. Meanwhile, she's married to her job. It's on her hundredth consecutive workday that her sister stages an intervention, kicking Lyla out of her own coffee shop. With nothing else to do, Lyla sets out on her favorite hiking trail. It's there that she spots a man washing blood from his hands in a stream. One moment she's staring at the jagged scar on his face. The next, his hand is around her throat. But by some miracle, he lets her go. Shaken to her core, Lyla reports the incident to the local police. Two days later, Vance Sutter arrives in town, armed with endless questions and a tarnished badge. Vance may be ruggedly handsome but he's as mysterious as the man he's hunting. And he'll be gone from Quincy in a blink. Yet Lyla's crush is impossible to stop. No matter how hard Vance tries to ignore it, there's no denying the chemistry between them. And avoiding Lyla is not an option. After years of chasing dead ends, she's his only lead to closing the case that haunts his career. So together, they'll retrace her steps. To find the scarred man she met beside a crimson river. Review: 4.25 stars! - I knew I would enjoy this book from the minute I started it. I loved Lyla as a character she was so hardworking and gentle. While Vance had walls built high around his heart him falling for Lyla was inevitable. I liked how he was protective of her. The book was well written so I could emotionally connect with both the plot and the characters. Also it gets extra points for how the plot took a complete twist in the end because it took my by surprise. Overall the story was artfully balanced there was passion, chemistry, mystery and humour. Waiting for Sable Peak now! Review: Loved it. - This book felt a bit like Shutter Island but very different. I kept guessing till the end. Very surprised with what was revealed. I can't wait for the last book! Mateo and Vera story should be very interesting!!!

Love this series!
This book starts with a bang! When Lyla Eden is attacked while out hiking, she is so shaken that she finds it hard getting back to everyday life. Then Vance Sutter arrives in town to try and find the man that attacked Lyla and she instantly trusts this insanely handsome man. But not everything is as it seems. Vance is closer to the case than anyone knows and there are a lot of secrets he's keeping close to his chest. I really enjoyed the mystery aspect of this book. It reminded me of Indigo Ridge and added a new aspect to the series that kept it fresh. The "will they, won't they" of the romance worked well with the mystery too. The sparks flew immediately but they were both hesitant to go any further. The ending unfolded amazingly but left enough questions for the next book.

omg thank god lyla got the man she deserves
i abandoned eloise's book, hated her and jasper, strongly disliked foster, but i've been loving lyla ever since her first cameo, her and mateo (i'll get into how much i screamed when i found out his book would also be vera's in a second) were not my favourites only because griffin and knox are perfection; i think part of why i disliked book 3 and 4 so much was because the bar was set too high on books 1 and 2, since lyla's man was an outsider i expected him to be "flawed" and to have a hard past like foster and jasper, he did, a harder past, more reasons to be unapproachable and grumpy and rude, and he wasn't, never with lyla, he has the "perfection" the men in book 1 and 2 made me expect from the series, not dumping trauma onto women, having it, but not as an excuse to hurt them and then come back parading the "i am sorry i didn't see it sooner", they left and they were hurt, but it wasn't an excuse, it didn't feel like that was to be expected, i personally never connected or cared for thalia and eloise and i still don't, but i loves winslow, memphis and lyla so much that i needed for them to have these man they could trust and rely on (not on a creepy way like a shadow, wt* was that with jasper and eloise never being separated that man needs a job, and therapy and death but i'll keep that to my dreams) i SCREAMED when i saw who the next couple was going to be, i loved vera since the start, felt hurt when lyla commented who got to hear her story would have the pieces of her heart cause i wasn't going to read it BUT I WILL I SO SO WILL; i read the tropes, read about matt having history in alaska, know vera will probably suffer a little bit but god i hope mateo is like his brothers and vance and not jasper and foster, she DESERVES a good man more than anyone else in this family, she simply does and i know mateo is good because he's never been anything but sunshine on the other books and vera already suffered too much omg i am so excited, and i want more lyla and vance, and griffin and winslow and memphis and knox i know eloise is the youngest along with mateo but god i hope there isn't much of her in his book, i never rolled my eyes as much as i did on the first chapter of crimson river when i saw the book started with her and jasper, almost thought it was going to suck, thankfully she kept her annoying self to herself and didn't show up much after ( i t w a s p e a c e f u l ) ps: hopefully i am the kind of person that deserves a vance, not jasper/foster

Perfecte combi van Plot en Spice
Crimson River was echt goed! ๐ค
