I didn’t use the magnet part, they work great on their own. I considered drilling it into the shelf so it looks seamless, but decided to mount it underneath first. Works great that way, but love knowing I have both options. They’re easy to adjust and quick to install once all the pieces are put together. I do remember that part being difficult and frustrating (I used pliers to help connect/lock the pieces together - the instructions make it sound easier than it is) but I installed these half a year ago and it’s all water under the bridge. You won’t be disappointed with these! No issues since installation.

Kinda cheap. The mounting plate is plastic and feels like it will break when you snap the latch on. It does work fine once it's installed. The instructions don't tell you where to place the latch to get a particular depth, so be prepared to figure the placement out.

Smooth open and close, but if someone pushed the door too hard the latch will fly of its casing.

Hunting dogs can be smart, even if they make poor long-term decisions (retirement investments, choice of masters, or breaking out of their truck-kennel when their fellow dogs are hunting. Mis-using this latch, countersunk so the rod acts as a stop for the guillotine door, lets me quickly block or allow the door to be raised. And installation instructions is on a QR code so as long as I keep the Brittany's from internet access they will never figure out how to defeat it! Hey! Has anyone seen my Apple watch?

I installed these on some IKEA cabinets in my new condo. You must have enough clearance to drill a pilot hole (we had to figure out how to remove a drawer above one location) and screw these in, just as an FYI. My cabinets have super tall doors, and I installed these at the bottom (the only place available), so I just use my foot to push in the latch to open or close them.

Perfect replacement for an item that came with damaged closures. They were a little hard to put together at first, but once I got the hang out, it was easy. The best part was they were able to help! Great customer service!

Magnet was too weak so I had to superglue another set of magnets on the door as well. Two of these and two rare earth magnets held the door closed, one was not enough to hold on to the door when closed. Easy to install with the enclosed screws.
