He powered through these in a week. This series is the gold standard for him, and he compares all other series to this author (both writing style and world he has created so vividly). Other worthy points to note for young readers... he is FUNNY. the dialog between characters will have you laughing out loud. We have many quotables from these books. There are NO sex scenes or anything sexually inappropriate. There is love interest, but it plays a very secondary role in these books. Almost like a natural part of life, but not focused on it. There are MAPS! We love books with maps. There are obvious parallels to real world countries. Lastly, these books are ENJOYABLE for adults. Read them with your kids, either aloud or side by side. They're so lovely. We have created such a fun household culture around these books. If you enjoy adventure, strong characters, and a story that keeps you hooked, this series is a must-have. Highly recommend these books and this set. 10/10!

Great book series for all
I purchased this series for my son (an avid reader, although we didn't know it at the time) at age 8. He powered through these in a week. This series is the gold standard for him, and he compares all other series to this author (both writing style and world he has created so vividly). Great boy book!
My husband and 10 year old son read these together and they both loved them! Great boy book with action and heroes but nothing unsavory or scary.

Fast adventure book
Started the first book on audio when I went camping. Ordered the whole set when I got back. Crazy good!! Really fast read but fun. Takes me two to three days to read a book. Would be a great first series for a first timer like a kid in 9th or 10th grade. I’m almost 60 so I guess they’re for anyone. Very good.

A series that does not need graphic sex or violence to be good.
I have nothing against violence or sex in stories but some writers rely on those substances for shock instead of depth of story to be popular. This is one series that can tell a great story without needing any shock factor. 5 stars to the author for doing that! THAT is a talent unto itself in this day and age. Wasn't sure if I wanted to start another series but glad I did with this one. Some people seem to complain it is young adult, but seriously, it is so well written that who cares! I wanted to buy the whole set and read them all in about two weeks. I also ordered the other book set in regards to the viking type storyline being told. For not being violent and sexual, this series pulled me in. Halt is a great character IMO. Don't pass on this series if you feel it is only for young adults, give it a shot as it is a very well rounded storyline without sex and violence. Being able to write a 12 book series without rape and graphic violence is a skill unto itself.

Excellent series
This is one of the series I most often recommend or gift to younger readers. It’s exciting, well written and entertaining no matter your age. Also a good price for the full series.

THESE BOOKS ARE AWESOME!!!!!!
I could read all of them a thousand times!!! I already know most of them by heart and even still they never disappoint when I read them! Easily the best books I've ever read. Fast-paced adventure, exciting, relatable characters, and beautiful descriptive writing throughout all the books. Five stars and a high recommendation for all. If you love adventure and a good story, Ranger's Apprentice was written for you!

Geniale fortlaufende Geschichte
Diese Reihe ließt sich wunderbar. Ja ein Jugendbuch und durchaus leichte Kost aber wenn mans in Englisch ließt eine gute Übung. Die Story selbst ist so sensationell gut geschrieben das man regelrecht in die Geschehnisse rein gesaugt wird und hier und da schonmal 2 Stunden länger ließt als geplant ,nur weil man wissen will wie es weitergeht. Außerdem waren im Packet 12 Bände statt wie angegeben 11. Meiner Meinung nach würde ich Band 5 und 6 in anderer Reihenfolge lesen (erst 6 dann 5) weils in der Kronolgie eher passt, im einen ist Will - eine der Hauptfiguren noch Lehrling im anderen schon Ranger. Der Geschichte tuts aber keinen Abbruch. Wunderbarer Lesestoff auch noch für fast 50 Jährige Kinder mit Fantasie.

Great stories and characters!
I bought this series for my 9 year old son and I thought I would read one to see if it would be something he would like. After just a few chapters I was hooked! I bought books for him but have been reading them also. I finished all the books in about a month and a half cause I couldn't stop reading. These books are great for all ages. Great story lines, well thought out characters, and amazing descriptions; I really felt like I was transported into the books. I would highly recommend this series.
