Beginners Book
A good book for beginners to gain familiarity with C# and .Net. You won't learn things in depth, its not an encyclopaedia, although its priced like one.At that cost - you can buy packt.pub subscription for 5 months and read unlimited books.

An excellent primer for anyone looking to start their C# 12 and .NET 8
My past few weeks have been a combo of #healthybreakfast with a dose of C# and .NET 8. Without doubt, this is one of my personal favorites when it comes to a brilliant guide for beginner-to-intermediate programmers to the concepts, real-world applications, and latest features of C# 12 and .NET 8, with hands-on exercises using Visual Studio 2022 and Visual Studio Code.Last summer 2023, I had perused the C# 11 and .NET 7. This version has loads of updated content, hands-on exercises (which I executed all), context of AI tools like ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot and "Practicing and exploring" section wherein you can test your knowledge with specific exercises.4 reasons why I love this book:โ Whether you're learning C# for the first time, or an intermediate Dev looking to get some primer info into proven practices using cross-platform .NET, and a brief introduction to the fundamentals of web development, this is a perfect hands-on step-by-step guide for your learning journey. Has an excellent coverage from the setup of VS, VSCode etc. to the advanced topics.โ Practical guidance, tips and best practices shared along the way. Instead of becoming a long, boring reference book, this is a more practical approach to learning dev using C#.โ Accompanying GitHub repo with downloadable code. Personally, I prefer not downloading the code prior to reading a chapter, and rather read through and execute the code to test. In case am stuck and cannot troubleshoot, I do refer to the downloadable code.โ All you need is this book + one of the IDEs (either VS Code, Visual Studio 2022 or a third-party tool like JetBrains Rider) to deep dive into C# and start building websites and services with ASP.NET Core 8, Blazor, and Entity Framework (EF) Core 8.
