Fantastic single channel audio repeater to control GMRS HT radios. (some call it a parrot repeater)
Fantastic single channel audio repeater. Connected to Baofeng and then to TYT GMRS HTs with included plug. Charged internal battery and what ever audio radio receives it records and as soon as radio squelches then a moment later, keys radio to retransmit audio it has just received. Even short beep tone at end of transmission. Great for checking radio range and confirming RX and TX repeater function. Greatly extends GMRS range when positioned between two radios that are out of direct range of each other. Very pleased. Has additional functions, but am using as simple plug and play. Only adjustment required is setting receive audio volume about 1/3 rd from off. Be sure to set your GMRS repeater radio and your other HT radios to your preferred CTCSS tone code for those radios you want to communicate with.

Cost effective mini repeater.
Surecom sr112 simplex works perfectly it's a parot repeater works great when you don't have or want anybody around to help test your radios. Getting ready to upgrade my feed wire to kmr400 and antenna. Unfortunately I realized that the dtmf commands didn't work, so I did some research and found a fix for this problem. You need to buy a 0.1uf ceramic capacitor and soider it to r6&r5 then to r1. Works as it should. ๐

Voicemail record issue fixed
This is a great product. Itโs simple and works well for camping etc.. However the internal battery does not have enough power to allow the Voicemail style recording to work. Figured out that supplying the DC input jack with about 12 V through a 5.5 mm barrel connector will allow all features to work flawlessly.

It's very easy to set up for basic use
I had it running in about 40 seconds. It sounds fine. The audio play-back quality seems to sound same as the local Ham repeaters. Getting it going is quick. Connect power supply, and the interface cable. Turn on the SR-112 with a push button, turn on your radio. You will need to adjust the volume of the radio. Just use a second radio to transmit and listen to the play back volume level. I just compared loudness to other repeaters in my area. BUT there was this Loud Roger Beep tone at the end of every radio transmission. So, I checked the manual and found the touch-tones sequence to turn off the Roger Beep. However, none of my Baofeng handheld radios or my new Retevis RT-95 tones were decoded. The command sequence always failed after many attempts. I found a 30-year-old Alinco DJ-580 in my junk box. No battery! Found a 12v adaptor and I had that annoying Roger-Tone turned off on the second try! I really like this repeater and find it's very useful for the (915 MHz) antenna testing I've been doing for Meshtastic Node use.

2,100' mountain. 80' up a tree. 60 Mile Range! 5W Ht. Split Freq. 467input/465output. Plug & Play.
Common Misconceptions that I saw on YouTube was that a lot of people thought that (yes while it records incoming and then retransmits over the same radio) - You Program said radio with an offset... i.e. 467 and 465. so this does work and I am using it not as a parrot but a (delayed) record on the incoming frequency & retransmit on the outgoing frequency! Using a true dual-monitor radio we can also hear the initial input ch. *if we are close to each other, otherwise we only hear the ONE repeat. I have an Apache Case with a 5 Watt HT 2,100' up and 80' up into a tree that is 33 mile's from my home. with a 50 Watt Solar Panel and Diamond x-30, as well as a 30 Ah LiFePo4 in the case. it has been running now for several months and covers the entire city! Again, the delay is NOT heard as it is on the input frequency NOT the output of the radio itself. The video below is my hitting it 33 miles away from inside my home. LOL without effort. keep in mind anyone within say 2 mile's can hear my outgoing' if they are on that freq' - more importantly - the SR-112 *up on the hill & in the tree - can hear me *Line of Sight 60 Mile's! so when it pushes my signal back out *on the output freq' this is the first time they are hearing it. over the 60 mile's and Not on the originating frequency. in effect every regular user not monitoring both frequencies will only hear the 1 playback.

Works ok.
It's a parot repeater. You talk, and it talks back to you. Compatible with any kenwood style connection. I did have proble.s getting it to play nice with my baofengs, however. I worked will with my QRZ1 and GS5B, however. I assume it needs a higher end type of kenwood connector for reliable function. 3 stars. Good price, internal battery is a cool feature, comes with all required cables. Just picky on what radios it likes to work with.

Small but effective for short distance use
It works well, except for its reset timer. If you key up too quickly after the last message transmit, it will miss a portion of your transmission. You also really need to wait one second before speaking when it you key up. A lot of online video reviews show it is difficult to program with the DTMF tones. It is not! If you are having problems, turn up the volume on the radio connected to this device and the tones will be heard by the receiver and programming will be a breeze. It comes in with a battery installed for mobile use.
