Good tone, compared to similar icom external speaker. Might take a good twist of volume to get some sound out of it, but it's crisp and accurate. I have louder external speakers but those sound terrible up loud. Handheld units might not have the output to drive it like headphones. Works well on gmrs and amateur radio mobile transmitters. I have bad hearing, most mobile unit speakers are muffled. Effective solution at a fair price. It doesn't feel heavy duty but it sounds better than it might appear. I've bought several different styles of these looking for a better one. This is the best sounding one under $20. Again, a headphone jack might not drive this loudly, it is an external speaker.

It works
Works as it should and it fits on my car sun visor, sound quality isn't the best but when you're limited to where you can mount a external CB speaker this on fits the bill

Almost perfect, just needs tiny improvement
I use for an auxilliary speaker for my Cobra 29 CB. It is much easier to hear than the built in speaker, but it still has a bit of muffling and distortion. It is certainly a cheaper speaker inside the casing, but it works alright. If they went for a slightly better speaker to use, this would be a perfect 5 star piece. I'm very happy with it. I would still highly recommend this for the price. Cord seems fairly durable. Casing is very durable, I have beat mine up pretty roughly over the last several months of use, and it held up great. If the sound quality was a bit better, I'd happily give this 5 stars, but better sound quality is the main reason I bought it.

VERY low volume
The output from this speaker is a fraction of the volume of the speaker on my Bearcat scanner(which is new by the way. I'm very disappointted. It is of no use..

Works but very quiet
First time in 30 years i was unhappy with a uniden product. Regardless of the volume on the unit being used the volume out of the speaker is to quiet to use. Base usit is louder then rhe speaker being used

Sleek
I love all different kinds of radios and have them all over the place! I bought this speaker to replace a different name brand one when its plug wore out and the audio started cutting out and crackling. This Uniden speaker sounded just as good as the old speaker but was much smaller!!! I use the supplied mounting bracket to tilt and angle the speaker on the table without even screwing it in so I can keep it within a 45 degree range of my ear. Speaker works great and mounts almost anywhere. I was really pleased and for that price I ordered a few more!!!

Perfect size
Needed it to replace the broken speaker in my VHF radio.it’s small enough to fit in the boat and actually sounds better than the original in the radio.
