Perfect solution
For years we have struggled with contolling the volume of our Sony Audio player connected to our television. Then I wondered if anyone made an IR repeater. The answer was indeed, YES. So I began looking for. Some come with nothing but wires to glue to your devices. Then I saw one that satisfied our needs. It arrived overnight. It had three comonents, a receiver, a USB plug for power, and a transmitter. Perfect. All three were labled - no instructions needed although there were instructions. My wife removed the adhesive from the receiver and placed it on the top of our 80 inch tv. The shee plugged the USB in a spare port and then removed the adhesive from the transmitter and placed it on another corner of our TV. All the wiring is behind the TV. Took us 10 minutes and it works perfectly from 15 feet away. A blue LED lights up steady when a good signal is recived and rapidly blinks if it detects a signal but not strong enough to repeat. I give 5 stars for simplicity, economy, and ease of installation. I would incluide a photo but everything is behind the tv or just poking out where it is barely visable.

Cable Matters IR Transmitter & Receiver
A very nice, extra long IR cable, easy to connect and use. This item has a very wide receiving range compared to some of the smaller ones out there that you have to point directly at. It is also very susceptible to breaking and can get caught on the bottom of furniture or speakers. I recommend using self-stick cable guides to protect it once ready to permanently put in use to keep from accidently breaking it, but is it warranted for 1 year through the manufacturer. The transmitter end is placed in front of your unit and the receiver is on the longer end with a USB connector to go to power- so you need a wall plug adapter that DOES NOT come with it, but any USB wall adapter works with it. I loved mine until I accidently broke it. It is a proprietary product. Make sure it will work with your equipment before ordering as some equipment uses a 1.5mm mini plug. You do not need anything else with it as it is a self contained unit, other than the wall adapter.

Low transmit range limits utility
They warn us in the literature that range from emitter to the controlled device should be less than 5 in. From some frustrated tinkering with a mini split, this is true... Not like the old blasters that can be put anywhere in line of sight to the target machines. Otherwise, very practical for some applications and easy to use. The blue LED on the receiver would be better placed the active face in my opinion... If it's mounted high on a wall with the curved front looking out at remote-land, you can't see the blinkie. It's very difficult to get a sense from the literature about what plane the receive sensor is in. Coplanar with the surface it's bonded to, or at 90° to that? None of the information here in the listing or in the little scrap of paper included makes that unambiguously clear so it takes a lot of tinkering

Works perfectly!
Works perfectly! My wife bought a new gorgeous entertainment center but it has no glass doors or any other way to send an IR signal from the remote to the device when the doors are closed. This little product hooks up in seconds and does the trick! I have the receiver portion of this just barely peeking out from the corner of my center channel speaker that sits on top of the entertainment stand. The cord runs down the length of the speaker and behind the stand down into the stand where it points right at my AV receiver and my 4k player. One thing to note: this is not a programmable type device. It picks up ANY IR signal from ANY remote and transmits that signal to the other end. I did not realize this before I purchased this and actually ordered two of them thinking I’d need one for the AV receiver and one for my 4k player as they’re in the same cubby of the entertainment stand but on different shelves. Not so. Once I realized this I positioned the broadcast portion of the device on the inside of the door of the stand so that it can broadcast the remote’s signal to either device, depending on what remote I’m using. Ultimately I returned the unused second device and just kept the one. I sit about 12’ or so from the receiving end of the device and have had no issues whatsoever sending a signal to the device from my couch. Very cool little product that does exactly what you need it yo do. Highly recommended!

Thanks!
My previous Samsung tv came with an infrared extender, so I assumed when I bought a new S90C from Samsung, it would have one as well. I was wrong. I have Xfinity and to access their features use their remote instead of the Samsung remote, and the Xfinity remote uses IR to turn the tv on and off. Compounding the problem is the placement of the tv's sensor was such that I had a very narrow window for the remote to target the sensor. Short of standing right in front of the sensor, it would take several attempts to find the sweet spot. Reaching out to Samsung and Xfinity was an exercise in futility. Essentially, both companies basically said I was out of luck. Samsung even said the tv was incompatible with an extender. Fortunately I stumbled across this Cable Matters extender and thought hey, for the price it was worth a shot. The bottom line is that it was easy to install and works like a champ. I couldn't be more pleased with the results.

Not just for home theaters!
While advertised for home theater setups, this device is useful for anyone struggling with their TV remote not working correctly from different positions. My issue was that my JBL soundbar blocked the IR sensor on my Hisense TV,(The IR sensor is located at the front of the tv and receives your remote commands.) Because of this, I had to hold the remote overhead and aim it at the TV to get it to work. The CableMatters IR Extender Cable solved this problem perfectly. I simply plugged one end into the TV’s USB port, attached the extender’s IR sender to the back of my soundbar using the adhesive sticker, aligning it with the TV’s IR sensor, and then positioned the IR receiver from the extender in front of the soundbar. Suddenly, the remote worked from any position in the room without needing to aim it directly at the TV. I highly recommend the CableMatters Infrared Remote Extender Cable—an affordable solution to a frustrating issue!

Muy bueno
Funciona adecuadamente. Sirve para mandar la. Señal a los aparatos que tengo en un closet y muy bien. Sólo hay que posicionar bien el emisor para que no haya fallas

1st class. works really well
Works REALLY well. Only drawback, I need to plug into a wall charger. It doesn't pull much power, so a battery pack keeps turning off. I'm using to control a small Pattern light projector as a backdrop for musicians. ``the remote only has a short range ( and needed to be in front of it) this has sorted my dillema.

Annoying blue light
It works fine but has a giant blue light that lights up when you press a button or when it detects any kind of IR activity. Would be nice to be able to turn that light off

Fernbedienung funktioniert
Problemlos zu verbinden. Nachteil ist, wenn der Samsung Fernseher im Stand by ist, liefert der der USB Anschluss keinen Strom.
