I’ve tried a ridiculous number of high-end and popular artisan soaps/creams, and nothing comes close to Castle Forbes. It’s insanely easy and fast to lather—no special tricks required. Touch the tips of a wet brush to the tub and it explodes into dense, creamy lather. The scents smell genuinely natural (no harsh “cologne burn”), and the slickness/glide are the best I’ve found—perfect protection. The standout, though, is the post-shave feel: my skin is so moisturized and calm that I usually skip balm entirely. Yes, it seems expensive, but it’s super concentrated, so a little goes a long way. Castle Forbes has a permanent spot in my shave den. Highly recommend.

Excellent product. Beyond every other shaving cream I have used in my life. Very little on a quality synthetic shaving brush produces a rich, slick, moisturizing cream that your razor will slide over. Shave feels close, without nicks, no break outs, just clean skin!

Since Gillette discontinued their lime shaving cream, I have been looking for a shaving product to take its place. Turns out there are lots of lime-scented products out there that smell nothing like limes. This one said essential oil, so I gave it a go. It smells heavenly. Absolutely nothing other than fresh squeezed lime scent. I shave in the shower and use a horse-hair brush to apply it. Th smallest little touch of this stuff results in a thick, rich, fragrant lather that my blade simply glides over. Do yourself a favor. Start shaving in the shower, and use this product as part of your routine. You’ll be glad you did. Your blades will last a LOT longer, your face will feel better, you’ll actually enjoy the experience.

The best. It's not the only shave cream I use, but it's the only one I keep coming back to. Lathers up nice and thick, the lime scent hitting your nose and soothing your skin. Pair it with their lime aftershave for an incredible feel.

I purchased my first bottle of Castle Forbes Lime Oil Aftershave Balm in October of 2011, and I am just now replacing it with a new one. Yes, this stuff is a little pricey, but it is well worth the price to me. This balm comes packaged in a very nice box, and inside you will find the actual bottle. It is a heavy, solid bottle, with a nice cap, and it looks very attractive sitting on your counter or in your medicine cabinet. The first thing you will probably notice when using it is the delicious lime smell. It smells wonderful, but is not overpowering once on your skin. It is a fresh, light scent that I enjoy all year. The balm itself is very high quality, and makes my skin feel great after even the closest straight razor or double edge shave. In the past, I used several different "sensitive skin" aftershave balms from all the big names you find in chain drug stores, and non of them work as well as the Castle Forbes. This balm works so much better that I can actually use less than the big brands, and my skin still feels more moisturized and less irritated. While a bottle of the competitors balms would last me a month, maybe two tops, the Castle Forbes has lasted me 9 months as of now, and I still have about a month's worth left in the bottle! After using this, I have no redness, no irritation, and no razor burn. It leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturized, without being greasy. If you apply too much, it can make your face feel "sticky" for a while after, but that just means you applied more than you need. With a product as high quality as this, less is more! Overall, yes it is expensive, but you can use much less than competitor's offerings, it smells great, it feels great, and most importantly, it works!!

Scent Quality I recently bought a good-quality bottle of sandalwood oil (Indian sandalwood - Santalum album - so it is a small bottle, as it's quite expensive), and, unlike some other reviewers here, I can definitely detect the sandalwood scent in this shaving cream. Cedar has a pungent note to it that is not present in this cream. The cedar scent is there, but the sandalwood rounds it off. I worked in the lumber section of a large home improvement retail store about 10 years ago, and, though the scent of this cream is woody and strong, I don't think it smells quite like walking through a lumber yard, as has been mentioned in other reviews. Lather Quality This cream lathers pretty quickly and is lush. I have to work it a bit harder with my boar brush than with my badger, but that's typical & the boar gets a far more than adequate lather. I've still not found the perfect ratio of water:cream, so it's cushiony but not quite as slick as I'd like. I haven't messed with it enough yet, though, and it still gives a good shave.

I been using this shaving cream different scents and I have consistently found is a good quality product. It is expensive but is better than anything else I have tried so far. I’ll keep trying other products and see if I can find a lower price product that gives me same or better quality shave Easy to generate dense leather, protects skin from irritation even after several passes, I prefer lavender or sandalwood over lime.

Non amo particolarmente i dopobarba in balsamo, ma questo è assolutamente ottimo e lo alterno ai dopobarba della TOB.

Crema da barba di altissima qualità. Si monta facilmente. Basta veramente pochissimo prodotto per creare una schiuma che dura per almeno 3 passate. Scorrevolezza incredibile. Protezione eccellente. Il post barba è il migliore che abbia mai provato (confronto con Floris London e DR Harris, quindi prodotti premium). Profumo fantastico. Gli oli essenziali di lime danno freschezza e “vivacità” alla rasatura. Estremamente gradevole ma mai invadente. Personalmente, lo trovo talmente buono che lo vorrei ancora più forte e più persistente anche dopo rasatura. Prodotto più caro rispetto ai prodotti acquistabili al supermercato, ma la qualità non è assolutamente paragonabile. La considero la miglior crema/sapone da barba che abbia mai usato.

When I received this product, I assumed that it would last me 3-4 months max. But I never expected how little I need to use for each session. A very little amount, like the size of the tip of your finger, will be enough for 3 passes easily. It also produces a very rich lather, which will feel amazing when shaving. And the scent is on another level. Honestly a 10/10.
