Perfect to battle California heat
We have been using this for a long time. We lived in an apartment with no a/c in California, and it did great to keep us cool. Even if we decide to not use the ice and water in the back, it is powerful enough to keep a nice breeze flowing. It isn't the quietest in the world, but it isn't too loud to keep us awake at night. We moved to Nevada and upgraded to A/C, but we still use this in our office space, helps with the heat generated by two PC's. The remote is a plus for when I am in a video call or lounging in bad lol. Put it on oscillate and it does well to circulate the air. Great value for sure!

Excellent Tower Fan
Even if this were just a normal tower fan it would have been well worth the money from the coolness it pushes out, but with the evaporative cooling it's like having an energy saver air conditioner. Its extremely quiet and reaches so far that I sometimes can't even get the remote to interact with it as far away as I can feel it's breeze. It's important to note that the quality at which it cools through evaporative cooling his highly dependant on the humidity level of your home. The less humid it is, the better it's going to work at cooling with the ice packs and water tank. If you have it in an area of extremely high humidity you could pair it with a dehumidifier to even out it's effect while still using less electricity than a traditional AC unit.

Quiet setting
Fan works well and it’s slender so it’s not completely in the way. It also has a quiet setting so you can sleep with it on. The water compartment is very easy to assemble and blows out colder air.

Excellent fan that provides some cooling
Don't expect anything crazy as it's a swamp cooler and not an AC. It works well for me though. The fan is quite powerful. Cheap to run, and it lowers the temperature of my room by 5-6 degrees when it gets over 80°F in the room. I live in the Salt Lake area. Along with the fan running it makes it feel a little cooler than that. The detachable water tank is nice as it makes it easier to dump out water to prevent algae growth. Make sure you open your window wide enough to allow airflow. If not, your room won't cool well and it will just make it too humid.

Good fan/evaporative cooler, while it worked
I bought this because the AC in my apartment is too loud to enjoy watching TV while it is running. So, I was looking for a quiet way to do more than just churn the warm air in the room. On it's lowest fan setting it is quiet enough to just leave on and it moves enough air to feel from ~8'. Great. Filling the tank and turning on the evaporative cooler does drop the air temperature a few degrees. Putting the provided cooler packs (after putting them in the freezer for a few hours) drop the air temperature a few more degrees. That's almost exactly what I needed it to do. In addition, while the remaining 3 fan speeds are too loud for my intended usage, it moves more air than my (also annoyingly loud) box fan at top speed. So, it's better when I just want to move some air - such as when the temperature outside is actually nice. The reason I took two stars is because 6 months later there's a grinding noise. It still spins, still moves air and the evaporative function still works (air is still colder with it on), but it's no longer capable of being quiet enough for my main utility. Getting just 6 months is disappointing. The fact that this isn't an inexpensive product to begin with just compounds the problem. I may buy another one, but it'll have to be under $100.

Efficiency in mobile home depends on outside temps
It is not necessary to run the fan on the number four setting to be cooler. I found that running it on the number three setting is actually the coolest for me. It's quiet, the remote is small and works well, but wish buttons were lit, and assembly was pretty simple. It is mid-afternoon in Southern California and 94° in the shade. The unit is about 9 feet from me and the temp in the den is 75°. The den is open, not closed off by a wall, in a 1600sqft mobile home and is normally 79-80° prior to receiving the evaporative cooler. The rest of the home is 79°, or a little less,(keeping our electric company happy), and older mobile homes are difficult to cool. On 103° days it does not reach 75° in the den with the evaporative cooler, maybe 78°, but as it cools down outside, the temperature in the den will go to 77° after I add a little more ice to the bin. In a home with good insulation I think it would work well, especially if it's in a closed off room. My goal was just to be comfortable in the den with the evaporative cooler and I've reached that goal. It's quite nice to be sitting in 77-78° instead of 80°! Those 2-3° do make a difference. I don't use the included ice packs. I just add ice and water as needed, probably twice a day. Don't let your room get too hot before you turn your evaporative cooler on because it takes longer to cool off a hot room. I'm happy with the cooler. I'd buy another one if my ice maker could keep up with it. Lol! Good luck with yours!

Product defective and if returned costs has much as item.
Received the item. The water in the tank seemed to never diminished. While ensuring that it wasn't just on fan mode only. It wasn't providing very cool air. I found out the pump was not working. Then I try to return the item which I have to pay for since I am only provided with a return lable requiring me to pay postage. The price of the return is nearly as much as the product it self defeating the purpose of returning it.
