Comparing this Dreo Pedestal Fan with the Dreo Tower Fan
Back in July I needed a new fan. I had trouble deciding which to get, so I treated myself to two: This Dreo Pedestal Fan (Amazon ASIN: B0CTCWLV35) and the Dreo Tower Fan (ASIN: B08PDDSDHY). This pedestal fan is more like a typical fan (it has a round portion on top that holds the blades). The tower fan is more unusual in that the blades run the length of the unit, which is like a skinny post. Dreo fans are shorter than other fans that I've had, but I think this enables them to have a smaller footprint. By that I mean that the base doesn't need to be as big in diameter to stop the fan from falling over. I like these fans, but they are very different. If you are trying to decide which type to get, perhaps this review will help. DREO TOWER FAN: I put the tower fan in the bedroom because it fits a little space I have in the corner. This fan takes up much less room than the pedestal fan because it's less bulky on top. The fan is quiet. However, noise is different at night when I'm trying to sleep. On its lowest windspeed setting it's almost silent and hard to notice that it's on, but even at this speed, it helps to circulate the air in the bedroom. The number 2 setting is reasonably quiet. I find the number 3 setting to be a little too noisy at night while I'm trying to sleep, but I don't think I would notice during the day. At this 3rd setting, the wind is a little too strong to have it blow directly on me. However, if it's a hot night, my husband likes it at this stronger setting and positions it to blow across the foot of our bed, which is comfortable for both of us. The fan has additional, more powerful settings (it can go up to 6), but we don't tend to use them. The fan noise isn't bad during the day, but the 3rd setting is the most I can tolerate at night. The tower fan can be set to rotate or be stopped to blow in one position/direction. A problem is that it can rotate only at its maximum (120 degrees). I would have preferred that it be customizable to rotate perhaps 45 degrees or 90 degrees. 120 is too much for our bedroom, as it tends to blow things that we don't want to have blown. Another thing to be aware of is that the tower fan can blow only across (horizontal to the floor). You cannot change the angle of the air to blow up or down. It's fine for blowing in the direction it is facing, but as the fan is short (the top of the blades is about 3 feet from the ground) the wind is only from about the base of the blades to 32 inches from the floor. If you want to feel the wind higher up than 3 feet, then this is not the fan for you. DREO PEDESTAL FAN: It's about the same height as the tower fan, but the tower fan is shaped like a rectangular post (6x6) with a wide, circular base.. The pedestal fan has a skinnier post, but a MUCH bulkier top. It's blade portion is about 12 inches across in diameter and almost 8 inches thick, so it looks like a pot turned sideways. However, the pedestal fan is more versatile than the tower. Like the tower fan, it has a maximum rotation of 120 degrees, but the rotation can be adjusted so it can turn in a smaller arc (or stopped to point in a specific direction). Another important difference is that the round portion holding the blades can be tilted to change the direction of the air flow. The pedestal fan can blow across (horizontal to the floor) or tilted up. It can blow straight up (90 degrees) or anything between 0 degrees (horizontal) or 90 degrees. (One problem I did encounter was that the manual didn't say that it was okay to grab it and tilt it manually. As this was an expensive fan, I didn't want to break it, so I at first flipped thru the manual to see if there was a button I needed to push to change the tilt. There isn't. However, I stop the fan from rotating before I tilt the blades--just to be extra careful.) The pedestal fan has 9 different windspeeds (the strongest is called turbo), so it can make a MUCH stronger breeze than the tower fan. As it's in the living room, we haven't tried to sleep with it, but if it were in the bedroom I assume I would have it at a low setting to reduce noise. If we are watching tv, I usually don't set it stronger than a 6, though I could probably go a little higher if I needed to. The airflow is fine for circulating air. I've been happy with it. However, based on the other reviews, I had expected this fan to create a much stronger breeze than it does. I suspect that the reviewers have only had wimpy fans to compare it to. I can understand that. Although I used to be able to find good, powerful fans, lately it's been hard to find any fans that make a good breeze--and most are very, very noisy. In comparison to other fans, I think the Dreos are fairly quiet. The amount of noise they make is low in relation to the amount of air they move. Holmes makes a nice fan that is cheap--around $30? It's quiet and looks nice, but unless I'm less than 5 feet away, I don't feel any breeze. In comparison to this fan, either Dreo is very powerful. It can make a strong breeze that I can feel several yards away. Both come with a remote, but I prefer to use the controls on the unit. The one problem I have with the pedestal fan is that I tend to accidentally touch the controls when I want to pick up the fan--but it's a minor inconvenience. Another thing to be aware of, is that the pedestal fan is easier to clean than the tower fan. That is, you can take more of it apart to get at any trapped dust, fur or hair. For the tower fan, you're pretty much limited to vacuuming the outside. So far, I'm happy with these fans. I would give the tower fan 4 stars and this pedestal one 5 stars. I like that the tower fan is so small and skinny. Even though it's not as versatile/powerful as the pedestal one, it's fine for our bedroom. I've used the pedestal fan a lot more because it can blow up or across. I've often moved it around the room on hot days. For a few months, I left it on 24/7. Now that the weather is colder, I don't need the fans so much. I hope they will work next year when the weather warms up.

I really like this fan.
I really like this fan with one exception. Let me first say this fan is designed well. It looks really nice. You can use both software, and the fan remote to control the fan. The remote functions are impressive. If you are not interested in using the software to control the fan, then the remote is there for you. The remote is impressively designed. It's design to adjust how wide the fan turns. When you want that function you simply press the rotate button and immediately press it again to select between 0 and 4 to determine how narrow or wide you want it. Impressively designed. I bought this fan because of two things; it's silence and the amount of air it moves at that silence. And I am very pleased with it. In fact, based on how much air the lowest fan speed moves, I think Dreo should redesign the fan to have the current low speed and a lower speed that is 10% slower. That will make the fan quieter and have an even gentler air movement. That's a blessing for folks who suffer from noise due to sensitive ear issue(s) like Tinnitus. Which brings me to the one thing that I don't about this fan. When you increase the fan speed from 1 to 4, each speed go up by, for example, 10%. Once you get to speed 5, the speed increases by something like 15% or more. That type of jump should not have happened until you get to speed 7, since one the main selling point of this fan is how quiet it is. The sound with that speed jump is noticeable and is distracting. Speed 7 is really where that jump should be made, so that people who want that power, will have more power. I am really hoping that Dreo redesign the fan and make those speed changes. Other than that one thing, I really like this fan. When I just got the fan I wondered about it's height as it's about 6 inches shorter than traditional standing fans. But if you're someone you want a small fan base, then this fan height is necessary. If it was taller it would turn over when on high speeds. The base could be made heavier to prevent that but who wants to be lifting a heavy fan. There is a true benefit to the height though. When it comes to the temperature of a room, the lower you are in a room, the lower the temperature will be. The fan benefits from this and offers cooler air movement than taller fans. I am very pleased with this fan. Thank you Dreo for the product and thank you Amazon for selling the product.

DREO Fans are the BEST!
I have a couple of the smaller fans by DREO, and when we lost our AC a week ago, a friend of mine lent me her DREO standing fan that had 360 degree oscillating blades, and I loved it, BUT I honestly only really needed it to oscillate back and forth, so, I decided to purchase one for myself! I adore this fan! It's got great power and is super sturdy, it doesn't shake when oscillating on the highest speed, it's got a quite white noise sort of sound which I love when I'm falling asleep, the remote is very handy, and it was super easy to assemble (just a few parts to place together. It is very high-quality construction! I definitely recommend this brand!

Awesome Bedroom Fan – Very Quiet
I was looking for a fan that is quiet like a Dyson but without the price tag of one. I found it in this Dreo 512 Oscillating Standing Fan. I researched the different versions of this fan (there are a few), YouTube has some great video reviews - and they all have different price points. I went with the 512 as it was the least expensive and the reviews were pretty good. This is not a cheap fan, but under $100 so we gave it a shot. WOW – my first impression when I took the components out of the box, every part feels well-designed and solid. This is much heavier than you would think, the base is heavy, the motor is heavy, but not too heavy. It is very easy to assemble, and I used the tool included in the box to screw in the bolt attaching the base to the vertical assembly. I set it up in the living room first to give it a try. The way it pushes air is amazing – I could feel the air moving on speed 4 across the living room into the media room (about 45 feet). The second feature – and the best – was the low noise level, even at speed 9. This is a very quiet fan compared to any of the 10+ other-different fans I own. • The remote is easy to use and I was able to control the fan from the doorway into the bedroom, but you must have line of sight to the base. • Speeds – level 1 is whisper quiet – levels 2 to 4 are very quiet – 5+ raise the noise level but still much more quiet than other fans I’ve used. I did not notice a significant difference in the airflow from levels 5 to 9, these speeds will progressively push the air further, but at level 5 the Dreo fan starts to suck in the curtains. • The oscillating feature is easy to use with the remote or from the pedestal. I had to learn how to click fast through the oscillating modes to get the one that worked the best. • Dimensions – the assembled height at the tallest extension, to the top of the unit is about 43 inches (it can collapse down another 5 inches lower), the mid-point of the motor is at 37 inches from the carpet, and the cord will extend about 65 inches from the wall (max distance before pulling the plug from the wall). I am very impressed with this Dreo 512 fan. We have used it for one night and on speed 3 it was so quiet while pushing enough air to be comfortable. The quality of construction is excellent, but I still got a 3-year protection plan as this is not a cheap fan. I paid a sale price of $86.45, and I find this to be an excellent value – I highly recommend the Dreo 512 fan.

Great Product!!
OK: like most people, I have run the gamut of WALMART/Kmart/Cheap standard floor fans. This is the REAL DEAL: EXTREMELY well made, VERY powerful and the remote is functional and attached conveniently to stand. Multi speeds (8?) rotation is just fast enough COMPACT, QUIET, best floor fan for size...covers a large area

Nice looking and feel fan but not as strong on high.
Great looking and Small footprint fan. Works well BUT the power level seems a bit misleading. Still enjoying this fan about a month later. Feels nice and the size and look are perfect. I feeel they over sale the power levels of this fan not much better than say a Lasko but i will say for the size it does do a well job at focusing the air to a giving point. 1 star off because i thought the fan would be MORE POWERFUL.

Great for POWER, but buyer beware for sensitive sleepers or somebody looking for "white noise"
I don't often circle back to leaving reviews, but I love this fan. I want to give prospective buyers a little bit of a heads up, though, as this may or may not be a bit *much* for some people. Firstly, build quality and assembly are unmatched. This unit is replacing an old dyson that began being loud AND not pushing much air, and unfortunately, they are a pain in the neck to take apart and clean, particularly for people with lots of animals like I do. This machine is beautiful and pushes more air than that dyson ever could, and I have it on speed 1 of 9, the lowest. That leads into maybe the only complaint some may have which is... This bad boy pushes a LOT of air. Again, I have it on the lowest possible setting, and its 8 feet away from the bed and if it is pointed at me, it is like being in a wind tunnel. Subtlety is not the name of the game with this. As this is listed as a bedroom fan, a lot of people may be a bit surprised at how cold this fan can make you, even on the lowest setting. For me, thats fine, but my spouse makes me practically point it at the wall because if they are in the blast zone, they may be intolerant to it. For wind hounds like me, you can't get a better bang for the buck. And despite its power, this thing is WHISPER quiet. I often dont even know that it is on until I am practically tripping over it. Final verdict though, you get a great build quality, and weighted base that your cat or dog will not easily knock over. You get a seriously impressive and stately looking fan that isnt an eyesore. Great functionality with the remote, and also good, straightforward customer service to boot, if you ever need it or have questions. I'd recommend this 10 out of 10 times for people who want power from a fan, but buyer beware if you are a bit more sensitive to huge gusty sleepy time. Definitely not a fan for somebody who just wants white noise, either, because by the time you crank it up enough to hear it, you might have a hard time keeping your blanket on your bed.

Great, modern & powerful fan for my photo studio!!
I’m loving my new white fan in my photo studio! It looks great, modern and high-end! It also works very well and I love all the features!! It has various modes and a remote which is very helpful when I need to adjust the fan speed from where I’m shooting. I love the mute setting too which makes the fan more quiet, so helpful when you’re also filming BTS video. I love how you can easily move the fan up & down and adjust it to get the perfect amount of wind in a clients hair. I’m loving the look when it’s on 4 or 5 and it’s powerful even from far away. I also love it on the highest setting (turbo mode) for when I’m creating movement shots with flowing fabrics! I do also add a second fan on the floor for a look like that. The only thing is I wish it was taller but I just put it on an apple box if I need more height. It’s that nice that I don’t care. Expensive but worth the $90, great addition to my studio! Highly recommend!!

Gran ventilador

Really quiet fan
The fan it self is really good. It's quiet enough so you can sleep with it turned on. It even has a night setting. There are 9 different fan levels. The build quality is okay, there is a lot of plastic. The base of the fan is heavy making sure it's stable. I'm very pleased with my purchase.
