Drawing on more than 40 years of experience with policy analysis, best-selling authors Eugene Bardach and Eric M. Patashnik use practical tips and real-world examples to equip effective, accurate, and persuasive policy analysts. The Seventh Edition of A Practical Guide for Policy Analysis offers new case studies, expanded discussion, new guidance for policy analysis in a polarized age, and step-by-step strategies for the budding analyst as well as the seasoned professional. Review: Good Pricing - Priced better than on the school's website Review: A Rare Book That Actually Teaches You How to Think and Address Real Problems - I don’t often say this about policy books, but A Practical Guide for Policy Analysis: The Eightfold Path to More Effective Problem Solving is one of the rare ones that genuinely teaches you how to think about real problems. The Eightfold Path gives you a clear, practical structure for working through messy issues—defining the right problem, weighing trade-offs, and turning analysis into something decision-makers can actually use. It’s disciplined without being rigid, and practical without dumbing anything down. I’ve returned to this framework more than once in my own work. If you deal with complex systems, policy questions, or high-stakes decisions, this book is well worth your time.

Great textbook!
I have to admit this textbook was simple to read and to be honest, I was surprised at how short it is. It’s a tiny book which is great because I’m a lazy grad student who prefers not to read hundreds of pages.

A very small book considering the price
I am not convinced that this book is worth the price it's sold for! It's barely 200 pages, probably more like 150 if you exclude "non-content" like headings, table of contents, index etc. Given the book is so brief, I felt it lacked depth of analysis/discussion. In particular, regarding practical implementation of policy.

Premier avis sur la Guide for Policy Analysis, a suivre
op, très bien structurée et détaillée, j’ai trouvé ce qu’il me fallait. Par contre, la police est un peu petite.
