I seem to have lost the instructions on the proper way to use this Travelon Bungee to attach two  bags.   Where I can get instructions.

I'm sure if you can find them on line but the usage is fairly simple, once you understand how it goes.1) The is the somewhat triangular, narrower end. Use the plastic thumb latch to fasten the nylon strap around the top handle of your luggage. It should by very close to the telescoping handle is located. Let the bungee hang down the front of your carry-on luggage.2) Please the bag or attache on top of the luggage, rest it against the telecoped handle.3) Pull the bungee up from below the bag, attache or item to be secured and put the broad, wider end over the top of the carry-on's handle. (If needed you can snug up the bungee straps but mine doesn't needed it.)4) In the middle of the bungee is another horizontal strap with a logo on it. I usually center this on my secured bag. I kind of looks like the center strap on the suspenders on a pair of leiderhosen. (Think of of the little Von Trappe boys in the Sound of Music.) This is pretty much how I do it. I hope this helps.

Question 2

Will this work with a backpack?  Mine does not have the sleeve to put the luggage handle through.

Yes it will work.  the big pad of the bungee goes over the handle of the suitcase and hangs down over the top of the suitcase. Place your backpack on top of the cords and against the handle of your suitcase.  Take the front part of the bungee and stretch it over your backpack and over the suitcase handle.  Adjust the elastic cords to hold it tight.  All set.

Question 3

I am thinking of getting a 'Maxpedition Fliegerduffel Adventure Bag, Black' which is only slightly smaller than my  carry on.  Would this fit over it?

Yes it should. We strap a 24 case of beer or a big carry on to our luggage when going to this vacation island we go to. Depending on what you strap, you do want it tight otherwise whatever you have strapped will start sliding to the side as the weight shifts and then you will lose your load.

Question 4

Will it accommodate a standard overhead rolling carry on laid horizonally?  dimensions: l22"xw14"hx9"

Accepted Answer

Just barley.  It depends on the height of the handle bar you are attaching it to.   I tried it on top of my medium size check-in case and the strap just fits around, but the issue I had is that the handle of the bigger case you are trying to attach over is maybe only 15-16 in., so it's "secured" right at the top near the handle and will rub your hand which is irritating.  And since it's so close to the top, the bungee will feel like it is going to pop off over the top.

If you are putting a little case on top of another little case (that would have a longer handle) then it should work.

I would also have a concern of the amount of weight in the small carry-on putting stress on the handle bar you are attaching it to.  If you have a 4 spinner wheels case and are rolling it upright, it won't be so bad since the small bag is resting on the bag beneath it and not on the handle bar.

Anyway, it was still a good purchase for me, because I filled up another duffle shopping.  And since my check-in case and carry-on case are spinners, I just roll them back to back in 1 hand.  (Luckily the handles are at the same height.)
