Mysore Sandalwood soap

It's probably 30 years since I last used genuine Indian Sandal wood soap.This is really lovely. I was a tad worried about some of the reviews, especially when I looked at the images of various sellers to find the same basic soap box with an 'exclusive', 'premium' and 'superior' - is there a difference in quality with each of these banners? The one I bought was 'exclusive' and arrived within 48 hours of ordering, which (even though the seller was in Leicester) I thought was pretty fast work.The soap? Gorgeous. I'm half way through it now and it is keeping both its scent and its shape, which is more than can be said for many Brit soaps.Yes it's quirky (its imprinted with 'government soap works etc..'but it's very very nice soap. I'm on a bit of a mission now to explore all those banners on different boxes to see if there really is a difference. I'll report back for everyone accordingly.In the meantime...I hope this helped!

this soap is just wonderful, a rich lather,, more than any other soap and a lovely perfume !!

We found the soap beautifully scented and this remains through to the end of the bar. It leaves skin gently scented and not at all overpowering. Doesn't smell of chemicals and feels gentle on our skin. Doesn't reduce to a mush and feels like a quality product. I was looking for a soap that was not full of chemicals and our boys, my husband and myself have found it lovely to use and we won't use any other soap now.

Received this soap 2 days ago. Promptly delivered, as described. Smells lovely. Haven’t used it yet but looking forward to doing so.

A Great product at a great price.

I first used this soap over 30 years ago (found it in the bathroom of an Indian friend) - still cracks me up that government soap factory is "printed "on it - such a lovely smell evoking tropical nights and perfumed palaces. I am allergic to sandalwood oil perfume and my sandalwood necklace that I bought in Mysore brings me out in a rash round my neck (I still occasionally wear it as it's so pretty) but have no problem at all with this. Will be buying again. Absolutely gorgeous :-)

Expensive for what it is. Very average soap. Works fine, smell/perfume about average. I expected more depth to the smell, something more intense and luxurious. But it's really very ordinary for the price.

I spent six weeks backpacking around India in the early 1990s, and I found this soap everywhere - particularly around the southern city of Mysore, which seemed to be the centre of the sandalwood industry. I bought a bar as a souvenir and kept it safe (as it was hard to find in the UK before the internet), and it still smells the same now as it did then. This is a genuine Indian product so it's not subtle - it's strong, sweet and woody, and lathers nicely in our hard water area. I will be buying more of the same.

Savon avec une senteur agréable, de plus le fournisseur n'avait plus le modèle choisi en terme de taille, ce dernier ma envoyé une taille supérieur sans supplément de prix.

Sapone veramente emolliente e molto molto profumato. Ho voluto provarlo come sostituto al solito docciaschiuma ..pensavo seccasse la pelle invece devo dire che lascia la pelle super morbida e ben idratata. Il profumo di sandalo è decisamente presente fin troppo!😅 Lo consiglio a chi ama le fragranze esotiche ..

El jabón es estupendo pero esperaba una pastilla un poco mas grande... me ha parecido un poquito caro 10€ por la pastilla.
